He wheeled up to the side of the bed where Ali lay sleeping peacefully. The tips of his fingers tenderly brushed over her calm features, as every detail was taken in. This was the first time he was seeing her since she had arrived at the hospital, and it lifted the weight on his shoulders a little. Yet, when he started to feel a bit better, grief darkened everything once again.

It was true that he was thrilled to see Ali, but it didn't erase the fact that he had also lost one of his best friends, San. Tears welled up, as the image of San's broken and bloody body flashed through his mind. He hadn't even been able to thank San for helping Ali and keeping her safe when he couldn't.

Also, Wooyoung was now under police surveillance. The police had already figured out that he was the true murderer of Jae and were waiting for him to wake up. He had shielded Ali with his body and taken on most of the impact of the crashing, saving her life.

Seonghwa started when he felt Ali's hand squeeze his own. He lifted his head in surprise, and his features soon softened when his eyes met hers. Moving closer to her, he raised her hand to his lips and kissed it lightly. Tears began to flow as he realised she was alive and well, and right in front of him.

Ali struggled to get into a sitting position and was grateful when Seonghwa placed a hand on her back to help her.

"Seonghwa, you're here." Her throat felt scratchy and her voice came out raspy. She accepted a glass of water from him and asked, "why haven't you visited since I woke up?"

Seonghwa shifted his eyes away from hers. Guilt was written all over his face, and he removed his hand from her grasp.

Silence overtook them once again, only to be broken moments later by Seonghwa saying, "I-I was so happy when you woke up. You don't even know how scared I was when they told me they had brought in you to the hospital, and were unconcious. I thought I would've lost you for good this time, and I was at a loss for what I should do. Then you woke up and relief overcame my sadness, and I wanted to see you right away, but I just couldn't."

"Why?"

"How could I see you after everything that had happened? I should've checked the car before I started driving, or not been fool enough to believe Jae when she claimed we were engaged. I should've put a stop to her advances, and that way none of this would've happened."

Taking in a breath, Ali sat up straighter, so as to make sure he heard every word that she was about to speak. "You have nothing to feel guilty about. Neither of us would've known that someone had tampered with the brakes, nor were you in the right state of mind when Jae told you all of those lies. She took advantage of you in your sick state and made you act how she wanted you to. You did nothing wrong, remember that!"

After her last word fell, Seonghwa turned back to face her, and saying nothing more he gathered her in his arms, as he sought comfort in her embrace.

Now, it was time for them to put the past behind them, and focus on creating new memories together.
