Returning to Wish

"Get the Hell out!"

Juliet yelled as she looked away from James, pouting. As requested, they left Juliet alone once again. Juliet thought about what James had said. There were no lies in what James had said, but it hurt Juliet to hear such a truth spoken so openly to her and not sugar coated. Aside from Gramps, James, and her old man; no one really gave much thought to Juliet. She was basically shut in her own little world and it was her own fault. Juliet enjoyed lazing around. Juliet liked the simple pleasures of life; good food, being comfortable, and enjoying a good story. Juliet loved reading stories about people overcoming things through the power of friendship, people finding love with others fighting for the main character's affection, and general stories about powerful people exploring the world. In truth, James' past suggestions to see the world had tempted her but she was to scared to get out of her bubble.

Going into Wish was too much of a leap for Juliet. She may find a grand adventure but she would also have to talk to other people, including NPC.

'Wait, aren't NPC's just AI?'

Juliet had forgotten such a crucial detail. Even if she failed to connect with an NPC they could never follow her into the real world. Wasn't Wish just another bubble she could practice socializing in and see a whole new world? If Juliet ignored other players, and focused only on talking with NPC's maybe she could one day have friends in Wish. Then maybe she could do it in the real world! Juliet decided! She would try and talk with NPC's like adventurers in Webnovels. Start with nice NPC then work her way up to harder ones. If there were players or NPC's bothering her, then she could just have Gramps or James deal with them!

There was still another problem though, Juliet didn't want to feel pain in Wish!

'Welp, sorry old man I tried but it was to tough!' Juliet thought. Talking the easy way was Juliet's specialty.

Juliet called the two back into her room.

"Tell my old man sorry, but the game was way to hard for me. I wanted to play but I don't like to get hurt."

The William thought for a moment and James shifted with his head low so that his eyes did not meet Juliet. William had scolded James for being too blunt with Juliet, creating a character that looked like Juliet, and having such a patronizing name for said character. All were grave sins in William's eyes, so James did not say any more, afraid to dig himself a bigger grave.

"I talked with Mr. Walton about the matter. He said he was disappointed in you quiting but he understands that the game is probably too tough for you. He also said there are non fighting classes in the game that can level up in different ways but all those jobs require talking and interacting with other players. The only combat job fit for you would be a healer if you don't like damage."

Hearing Gramps words, Juliet was saddened. Her old man would never usually say he was disappointed in something, let alone her. However, Gramps last words reminded her of the same though she had in game. If she became a healer, she could help in a fight without taking damage. Gramps and the little shitter would do all the work and she would still get experience for fighting. She could be bussed to high levels with her trash xp cheat. However, would she even have fun playing like this? Or was she trying to play the game to get herself out of her shell? Not even Juliet knew.

"I don't mind playing a healer, but you guys are going to have to be my meat shields."

"...."

"Being a meat shield is the least we can do for our master!"

William said with a gentle smile. As the one who raised Juliet, he was happiest to hear Juliet would be coming out of her room again. He didn't mind absorbing all the damage if it meant she would feel comfortable participating in something new! Healers naturally learned to communicate in other MMO's, so maybe one day they could join a large team and raid dungeons like he used too in WoW.

William contacted MalCore and asked them how to become a healer, something a normal player couldn't do. Most games you already start as a class, but in wish you don't have a class to begin with, so William decided to cheat and ask the designers. With the knowledge given to him, he gathered James and Juliet.

After going together to the pod rooms, they instructed Juliet to connect last. Juliet didn't understand why until she she zoned in, then she remembered!

They were in the middle of a large city, specifically a large bazaar like area with people trying to sell things to every passerby. This was something the duo knew Juliet could not tolerate. After Juliet zoned in, the William put a cloak over her face. She examined the cloak and information appeared before her eyes.

[Travelers Cloak: starter gear

0 defense

A basic brown cloak given to adventurers who paid for this cosmetic cloak option in character creation. It is merely cosmetic and provides no defense. Oraclers can save this pattern for you if you wish to transfigure this appearance on other items.]

As She could hear the hustle and bustle of the city around her but all she could see was Williams basic cloak. William kept a steady hand over her and guided her past NPC's shouting at them to buy all kinds of things. They continued to walk in a zig zag path until they reached a corner. William stopped her and asked the person in front of them for directions.

Staring at the gallantly clad guard, William asked for directions to the temple of ERIAS or MIT, two of the three primary Gods according to what the MalCore people had told him. Only special circumstances would allow players to join the temple of NOHJ, something that William thought Juliet would not want to do. Wish also had lesser and regional "gods", but they also required special circumstances, such as favor to serve under.

Looking at the Older woman in front of him, he would normally overcharge a city newcomer one gold for any information, but he thought he would make an exception for this beauty. Bruce, would make sure she knew he was doing her a favor. Even though guards were suppose to help people freely, he was a guard captain. Bruce decided who was right and wrong in this area, and no one would say anything about him lining his pockets. Only a acting proctor or higher could dare say anything to Bruce!

"I am the great Bruce, guard captain and protector of law in order in this district 4th of the Ein. Normally I would charge a measly gold for my services but I am very generous. I can tell you are new to Ein, so I can assist you for your name and a single kiss."

Hearing these words, William but on a bitter smile.

'Sexual harassment in the first few minutes of playing? Although it very much mirrors medieval times, I can't believe NPC's are so mischievous. It is good that Juliet choose to play a guy! Thinking it over, maybe we are lucky we don't pay a gold fee. We don't have any money!'

William leaned closer to the guard.

"My name is ARA ARA!" William says in a bright tone.

Giving Bruce a peck on the check, William pulls back hoping it was enough.
