The Appeal

Sophia Anderson

New York

Penthouse

When I woke up again it was to the sudden feeling of weightlessness, someone was carrying me. They were strong too never once moving to adjust their grip on me.

My eye lids were lead over my eyes, exhaustion seat into my bones but I couldn't sleep. Something about the person carrying me away felt wrong. Like some long-forgotten instinct I knew in my soul that whoever was carrying me was extremely dangerous.

"Sleep." He order, his falling on my cheeks like kiss from death himself and my body obeyed.

Death

Anderson penthouse

Private parking lot

Well, I can see the appeal. Many things were said and unsaid about, Miss Anderson here. Some things more true than others, her beauty was by far understated. Then again the people talking about her are simple minded demons who are extremely jealous that a human was able to capture and hold Lucifer's attention for more than six months. Quite the feat for a mere mortal, when they themselves couldn't hold his attention for more than two minutes.

This little human set off quite the uproar in Hell, when the King who so attentively paid heed to their every amusing demonic desire.

Suddenly couldn't care less about the noble demon Lords and Ladies ravenous hungers. Seeing her now, I can see the appeal, I really can.

BANG!

Cracks appearing in the foundation as the building shook trigging car alarms and tripping the lights.

"Aren't they having quite the party?" I muttered to the sleeping Miss Anderson as another explosion sounded.

The car that I came in was far too small for this journey so with a wave of my hand the two seater Ashton Martin, transformed into a SUV.

Depositing Sofia on the back seat her skin cold and pale. She was bleeding out, dying right in front of me. How amusing it would be to let her die. The look on Lucifer's face I would be one for the ages.

But alas it was not her time, placing my hand over the wound on her leg I felt that familiar rush of power.

It's been quite a while since I used it to give life instead of taking it away.

Black mist surrounded her body healing everything it touched. But around her stomach the colour of my power changed, from pitch black to a rich bright red almost like hellfire.

Well, isn't this intriguing!

A shock equivalent to a small bomb went off the second my hand pressed touched Sophia's stomach. How strange, whatever energy that was, it repelled me. Fascinating!

"Sophia! Sophia are you here!" A weak female voice called out in the darkness of the underground parking lot.

Shit, I was so focus of whatever the hell is going on in Sophia's abdomen, I didn't even notice the little human sneaking up on me. "Um." Sophia groan, rolling her to the side in discomfort.

"Sophia!" A young women appeared two cars away, holding her phone flash light up.

The blood running down her face and glass in her light brown hair did nothing to hide her beauty.

This girl was lying next to Sophia upstairs, unconscious.

"Is someone there?" She asked breathless. Scared!

She squinted into the dark. Hm, human fear is quite something to behold.

I cloaked my presence as she neared the car. "Sophia!" She cried upon seeing her friend. The wounded girl immediately rushed over. Upon closer inspection she looked quite familiar, I wonder why?

CRACK!

A long jiggered crack went across the cement roof.

"Oh no!" The girl whispered as she began to shake Sophia. "Hey, Soph, Sophia, wake up! Come on! Wake up!" She yelled at Sophia.

Oh poor thing! This girl could shake Sophia all day and not get a reaction. Sophia won't wake up unless I want her to. L

"Sophia, it's me Lena! Come on, you have to wake up! We can't stay here, it's not safe."

CRACK! The pillars supporting the underground parking lot trembled under the weight of the two Angels fighting upstairs.

Okay, those assholes are definitely taking this too far.

What's next a freaking earthquake? As if on que the ground started shaking.

"Shit!" Lena cursed, staring up in horror, as clouds of crumbled cement fell over her head.

"Shit, indeed." Lucifer you're really laying it on thick, aren't you? I have to get Sophia out of here before the building collapses. Lucifer isn't the most forgiving type when it comes to her.

"Holy... Who are you?" Lena jumped, whipping around to face me, arms up like she'd strike me down if I came to close.

"As much as I'd love to watch you stand around looking all hot and bloody, we have to go before the building collapse in on us and you both die." I say smirking. Lena simply stared at me in half awe and half terror.

I didn't wait for her to respond, I got in car and started the engine.

"Who the hell are you?" She demanded. Well, aren't you brave little girl.

"Get in the car or don't. I don't really care what you do but I am taking Sophia somewhere safe." The room shook once more.

Frozen she watched me then glanced toward Sophia on the backseat.

"I'll get in." She said sinking her teeth into her bottom lip. As we drove out of the building, Lena tried to ask me more annoying questions. Rolling my eyes I knocked her out too.

Sigh.

Finally some peace and quite!
