Jonathan was stunned for several seconds before he organized his thoughts enough to ask the question that was burning in his mind the most. At the same time, he finally put his thoughts to voice instead of relying on Jack's ability to read his surface thoughts.
"I… can visit your multiverse?"
A pleased and proud feeling emanated from Jack. He thought to himself, 'Good, good, good. Talking this soon is auspicious. I wasn't mistaken. This time will be different.' Tying his thoughts up there, he moved to answer Jon's question.
"Yes. Of course you can. Did you think that because we are now the same kind of entity that you no longer could go back to your home universe or to any of the other universes that I have created?"
Jon felt a little embarrassed. "I didn't think it was possible, that's true, but rather than that I didn't even think about visiting your multiverse. I figured I'd have to wait until mine matured before I could visit my own."
Jack chuckled, "Well, it's possible. You also could wait, but you created different Primordial Gods than I did, so nothing will be the same. It might not be a Marvel multiverse at all. So if you want to meet your heroes or even maybe date some of them you would have visit one of my universes, or many of them."
Surprised. Jon quickly asked, "What do you mean, not a Marvel multiverse?"
"What I mean is that what you've created more likely will end up being something completely new. The only way it could be the same is if you forced it to be. Take it from me though, forcing fate can lead to instabilities in yourself as well as in the multiverse, making it much more likely for the multiverse to collapse and for you to have to start over from scratch. And that, is a painful thing to go through."
"I see…" Jon started to wonder what sort of universe his first would be like. Whether there would be super heroes or maybe something else. 'Those Wuxia novels were pretty awesome, but I doubt they'd be possible. Most of those characters end up becoming beings close to something like me and I don't know how that'd work. Maybe they'd grow into being another Primordial? Nah. I wouldn't like that. I'd rather have superheroes, giant robots, aliens, and supervillains… Speaking of universes though.'
"How would I travel to your multiverse?"
"Easily. Just jump in. You won't be able to maintain the same form you have out here, and you won't be able to consume anymore of the Primordial Chaos until you exit. Though it shouldn't be a problem, you're already rather full, and depending on how your Primordial Gods do, it should last a few million years at least and a few billion at most. If you don't create any more gods, you should have enough to create two or three universes. As for your form, you'll look like how you did just now when you talked with your sons and daughters. Not the dog head, nice one by the way, but when you were interacting with them."
"Alright. Sounds good. But I have a few more questions before I think about that. What sort of abilities will I have? You mentioned that I would be as 'weak' as the Hulk, but that's not everything is it?"
"Ah, I thought you would ask deeper questions, but this is fine too." Jack looks up to the distance. "Best to spread the heavy stuff around, I find. Especially in a story. If you tackle all the hard stuff at once than the rest of the story becomes superfluous and weak in my opinion."
As Jack started his mini rant it felt as if he was talking to someone who wasn't there. Jon had a thought about it, but it felt rather crazy for it to be even possible. 'Is he breaking the fourth wall? Is there a fourth wall here? That'd be insane. Or maybe... he's insane?' He started backing away, thinking that his mentor was a bit off the rocker and might not be safe.
"Anyway, you were asking about the abilities you'd… What are you doing way over there?"
Jon froze. "Uh, nothing, just thought I could listen better at a distance. Nothing to worry about. Haha…"
"Ookay. Are you feeling alri-" "I'm fine" "-well alright if you say so. You know the infinity stones right?"
"Of course."
"Well, in my multiverse you'll have the same abilities, just extremely watered down. You can manipulate time in a localized area, just reverse, slow someone's relative time, as well as speed up your own, see into the future or past by a few minutes.
You'll be able to see a person's aura, how they're feeling, what sort of personality they have, all of that will be in your visible spectrum. You'll also be able to intuit when people are destined to die, and I don't mean death due to accidents or murder, I mean when their bodies are hardwired to die. It'll be something immutable and unable to be changed.
You'll have short range teleportation and a decent sense of the space around you. The ability to connect to someone telepathically as well as read people's surface thoughts. You can alter reality a bit, make illusions, summon temporary constructs, that sort of thing. And of course you can at least give Hulk a good fight with your strength and endurance."
Jon lowered his head, "Woah."
"Yea I know, it's a step down from what you're used to now. But as you and your sons and daughters create more you'll get stronger. Each universe you create is a qualitative leap in strength. You create a universe, not only does it increase your power, it increases your control over that power. Think of each universe as a focus point, your power passes through it and it gets channeled and amplified while simultaneously your powers are what makes the universe function. Symbiotic relationship. Anyway, the more universes made, the stronger the channeling and amplification."
And just as Jonathan was going to ask how to create a universe, Jack raised his hand and stopped him.
"Listen, we have so much time, literally an eternity for me to talk and for me to explain things and for you to listen and for you to understand. But we should really move this along." With that Jack started to get fidgety. Observantly, he thinks, Jon caught on to his movements. It wasn't really being observant, though, as it's rather hard to miss such things when the person being observed is a giant compared to yourself.
"Why does it feel like you're rushing me? Don't we have all the time in the world? Sorry, in the omniverse?"
"Well, normally you'd be right. However, A.) I'm tired of explaining things for now. B.) It's my duty to keep you safe, but I'm not exactly able to dedicate my entire being to it for the foreseeable future. Which leads to C.) The safest place for you to be is exploring other universes while you're still growing and developing. When you run low of energy, I will consume the Primordial Chaos and direct it to you."
'Well… that makes sense.' Jon thought, but then caught on a train of thought that had him turn pale and green, which is odd considering he looks like he's made up of the Chaos of Creation.
"I can't help but notice, that… this seems an awful lot like an i-incubation period… HURK..l-like you'll be… which-"
"I know. Just stop that thought, and think of it more like we're marsupials. Please." Jack started to rub his temples while bending over slightly, showing his exasperation at the way Jon was starting to think about the situation. His suggestion didn't seem like it was helping at all, either. Jonathan was still having a queasy look on his face. About to hurl bits of Creation all over the place, it seemed. 'For crying out loud, I realize I don't have human sensibilities anymore, but this is ridiculous. Hmm... could that help?'
Suddenly, he had an idea. His form shifted to more a full figured and feminine one. "Try to remember that we don't really have genders. As much as I am the father of your new form, I am equally your mother." His… HER voice now a shade higher in pitch and more airy. "I tend to take my life in halves, five hundred thousand years, I'm male, the next I'm female. Im not exactly at the next switch point but... close enough. I recommend you try it. If you want to understand life, you have to understand all of it, experience it, from each side's perspective. Jack Kirby was one of the forms I've taken, but it's not my name nor my whole identity, I've had countless identities over the years. My actual name is Unova."
For a second it looked like it might have worked, but soon it seemed that Jon was upset over an entirely different reason. Unova read his surface thoughts to figure it out. 'Wha-!? Jack Kirby's face with this body!? Oh for the love of the First!'
"That's it! In you go!" She reached down as her hand was enveloped in a bright light. The light soon pushed out all other sights from Jon's vision.
And when he could next see he found himself in a field of golden clouds with towering golden cumulonimbi in the distance.
"Recognize it?" Asked a woman from behind him. The same voice, it was Ja... no, Unova. Looking he saw a woman suffused in silver light, auburn hair with streaks of gray, almond shaped eyes, rosy skin with few wrinkles. She looked beautiful and dignified. She had a concerned look on her face, that made Jon think he was being shown specifically because of the last image he held in his mind. 'That's probably exactly how it is,' he thought as he turned away.
He then noticed he's also in his previous human appearance. Panicking, he felt for the Primordials mentally. After a few seconds he noticed nothing was amiss, Zhuque and Siwang we're having a sibling spat, but that's normal, so he sighed in relief.
Unova looked upon Jon as he explored himself, and chuckled to herself at his antics. She once again got a proper look at him, the first since the NYCC Comicon. Six foot four with flowing brown hair up in a low hanging pony tail. He honestly looked like Clark Kent if Kent lost the glasses and went for a hipster look. Chiseled, square face with deep set emerald green eyes, a roman nose, and a permanent five o'clock shadow. 'If nothing else, he looks the part of the usual superhero type. He should fit in fairly well.' She thought to herself as Jon finally started to take stock of his surroundings.
"I-I do recognize this place. Isn't it where Thanos and Adam Warlock were brought to after they destroyed universe 616?" He asked as he reached down and played with the fluffy clouds. They felt like Egyptian cotton, satin, velvet, and silk all at the same time, if that can be imagined.
"Yes it is. So, does it feel as gross as you thought it would? Because yes, you are in one of my universes right now."
Jon thought for a second. "Well, while the prospect of being inside another being still irks me a bit, I can't exactly say I feel gross... in fact it feels comfortable, which is weird, but not.. I don't know. It's confusing. Can we just move on?"
"Gladly... now. Is there any particular version of Marve- wait." Jon looks a bit flustered as Unova concentrated on his face. "My parent gave me a new name when I was reborn as an Origin... so I should do the same for you." So she started to pace in thought.
"Uhh... what's wrong with Jonathan? Jonathan Stevens? I mean I've had it all my life, I don't mind having it for the rest of it too." He interjected, hoping that he can avoid having a weird name.
"Nonsense. Such an ordinary name doesn't fit with beings of our stature. In this form sure it's fine, but the one outside? And to your Primordial Gods? It needs to have some oomph. And maybe some references to celestial bodies... I got it!"
She stops pacing and faces Jon-soon-not-to-be-Jon. She places a hand on her waist as her other points at him. Her eyes glow with a golden light and she says loudly, "In mine name, Unova Titania, thy name henceforth and unto eternity shall be," the realm they were occupying started to quake, "CORVUS RIGEL."
Seven colored lightning wove through the clouds and rose to the air, separating in seven different ways and striking seven points surrounding Jo-Corvus. KRAAK-OOOOOM. As the surroundings tumbled, and his eardrums felt like they'd be a milk shake if it wasn't for being nigh indestructible, he felt as if a basic and fundamental part of himself shifted and now the only name for himself that mattered was that one: Corvus Rigel.
Honestly, he thought it was fine, decent at least. He could get used to it. But he felt the fanfare was a bit much. "The speech, the quake, and the lightning. They were unnecessary. Right?"
"Well... they were necessary for me. I mean, I thought it fitting. But," she sighed, "no, it wasn't, I only needed to focus on the intention of naming you in order for it to take hold."
"Thought so, but, it was pretty awesome." Corvus smiled. Unova brightened at that and nodded as she closed her eyes and crossed her arms in front of her.
"That's right! Theatricality and presentation are important. You don't know how many times in the past I've just MADE things happen only for mortals who witnessed to say or think things along the lines of 'wait, that's it?' So I decided that when interacting with them, I'd put a little flair into it." She said and ended with jazz hands on the word 'flair.'
Corvus thought about it and could see how that could be the case. The Primordials and Archon seemed gratified more by the act he put on rather than their actual interaction with him, if he took out the dog head at the end, anyway.
"Anyway, back to the main subject. Is there any particular Marvel universe you're partial to or most familiar with?"
He pondered seriously. "Honestly, the MCU is what I'm most familiar with these days. I haven't read any of the comics in a long while. However, I'd still love to meet everyone else as well. So, rather than a single universe, can't I just travel them all freely?"
Unova replies quickly. "Sure, you just need to figure out how to do it yourself. I'm not going to help you every time. But I will do it once. Again, any specific universe, or rather any specific character you want to meet more than any others? A girl maybe?" She snickered at that statement.
"What's with you and that anyway?" Corvus turned around and asked. "I've actively ignored it for a while now but it seems as though you're trying to pimp out the heroines to me." He said with a look of mild disgust.
Unova waved dismissively. "Oh please, that's not it at all. I'm saying you should get a girlfriend. Fall in love, have a family. That sort of thing."
"And why should I do that? If I fell in love, wouldn't I just be depressed when they die as I continue on?" He retorted, his brow raised and his face set in a deadpan expression.
"Easy. If she, whoever she is, agrees to be with you for all time, while acknowledging just what exactly that completely entails, her time in my multiverse ends and she becomes an extension of yours."
Corvus' eyes widened and his jaw dropped in shock. After a whole minute his brows furrowed and he cupped his hand over his mouth while his elbow rested in the other hand as he fully digested what he just heard. "What would happen to the universe if she did leave, a character that its fate was dependent on, even if only partially, suddenly leaving would have consequences, wouldn't it?"
"Again, easy. That specific universe will reset to keep balance and another of her will be born eventually, recreating the conditions fate needs in order for her to go through the life she did and end up exactly the same way she did before you met and interfered with her fate."
"Why does it feel like there's a catch." He started to grow suspicious.
"Oh there is a catch. How hard do you think it'll be to convince someone that you are what you say you are and still expect them to love you exactly as you are and understand the implications of being with you for eternity? To leave everything they have behind, forever? Friends, family, responsibilities."
"Ah, good point. Yea, that would take time, and an extremely special, one-of-a-kind, woman that I'd only meet once every billion years. And probably take more than a few times around the bend... Look, if that's the case, I really don't know which universe I want to go to. Can you just, send me to the one you feel is the most appropriate for me and I'll take it from there?"
'This numbskull... whatever. If he starts reality hopping then he'll meet her eventually.. wait... eventually.' That got Unova thinking. Then a grin creeped on her face that she quickly hid with a hand.
"Yes, I can do that for you. Have fun~..."she said in a sing-song manner and snapped her fingers.
Corvus was now slowly turning into motes of light, again, all the while thinking to himself. 'That... was ominous... right?'
