After Shen Jun Shan went back to his home, the bad feeling Qiao An had previously still lingered but thanked god, nothing happened after that.
That made Qiao An calmed down and thought that it was just her feeling after all. Still, Qiao An made sure that she locked everything and went to her room, losing her mood to read.
Yet, whenever Qiao An looked at her mugs collection or the shoe rack, her heart can help but think that someone was really in her house that evening. After making sure that she had locked down the windows and doors for the third time, Qiao An went to sleep.
Qiao An went down her car, as usual, that morning.
Since she knew that there was a long deep scratch at the rear bumper, Qiao An could not help but want to check out the scratch. So, when she reached her car, instead of turning on the engine of her car, Qiao An went to check the scratch first.
"Eh?? Why does it seem that the scratches are getting longer?" Qiao An spoke to herself. She was sure that the scratch was not getting longer.
"What gets longer?" Shen Jun Shan descended the stairs with Amy Shen behind him.
Shen Jun Shan went to Qiao An and saw that there was a long and deep scratch at the rear bumper. "What happened to your car?"
Qiao An told Shen Jun Shan the truth that she did not know how she got the scratches. Also, the fact that she thought the scratch gets longer than it was when she checked her car yesterday. Qiao An told him of how she did not bump or hit into something that could cause her car to be scratched.
It just happened that the apartment complex did not install any CCTV camera in the parking lot. So, it would be impossible to find out whether someone scratched the car in the parking lot.
Not wanting to think about such depressing matter anymore, Qiao An went to school.
Meanwhile, Jin had been summoned by his father to go back home to City T. His father told him that they needed to discuss a crucial matter; therefore, Jin had to head home immediately.
As Jin did not know how long he will be in City T, he brought the kittens with him since Qiao An's apartment complex did not allow a pet. There was not Cat Hotel in City L; Jin had no choice but to bring the kittens with him.
It took two hours and a half to drive from City L to City T. By the time Jin reached his family home; it was half an hour before twelve.
Jin carried the cat carrier with him to his house, and Qiao An's mother saw him.
"Would that be a cat?" She approached Jin and saw two kittens inside the carrier; one has white fur and the others is a tabby cat. "Oh my… so cute."
Like Qiao An, her mother also likes cat. Jin and his father also love cats, but Jin was not the type of guy who could take care of a cat even though he likes them. Jin likes going out and taking care of cats needed full commitment. That was why, when Qiao An's mother saw the kittens, she thought that Jin brought the kittens as a gift for them.
"The white one is Snowy. The other one is Orange." Jin let out the kittens, and the kittens roamed around the living room of Jin's family house. "I adopted them from Xiao An's apartment complex to help a friend."
Jin told his auntie what happened with the kittens and how the kittens barely survived because it relied on people's food. But some people still reported it to the management and the security guards threatened to throw it somewhere. That prompted Jin to adopt the kittens.
"Ah, your friend has a kind soul." Qiao An's mother never thought that Jin could be moved into adopting a cat, not to mention, two kittens. It could either be because the friend begged him to adopt it or the friend happened to be very attractive.
"She is." Jin smiled, and that confirmed the suspicion Qiao An's mother had previously.
"Is she pretty?" Qiao An's mother asked teasingly.
"Hmm. Very pretty." Jin paused as if he tried to think of something. "She does not even try hard, beautiful indeed."
Seeing how Jin smiled when he thought of that friend of his, Qiao An's mother suddenly felt terrible for Jin. Jin gave the impression that he was interested in that friend of his, but the reason why her husband called Jin back home during this time will crush him.
"Xiao Jin, do you know why your dad call you back home today?" Qiao An's mother did not want to tease Jin anymore.
Before Jin could answer, the sound of his father's laughing voice could be heard in the study. To make his father laughed so hard, his father must be in an excellent mood.
"Ah Jin, you're back? Come inside." Jin's father asked Jin to go inside the study room.
Jin stood up and walked towards the study. When he entered the room, there were stacked of files and documents on his father's study. He sat down in front of his father.
"I heard you broke up with the girl you brought to see us last time. Is that true?"
Jin knew that the news of his breakup would reach his father soon. He did not know how, but somehow, his father knew if he broke up with a girl every damn time.
"Yes. She kicked a cat. That is a major turn off." Jin's explanation was simple. He did not want to say that Cleo's attitude is fake or something like that.
"Hurm… If she's cruel to the animal, she might have some issue with her personality. It's such a waste for a beautiful girl." Jin's father touched his chin like he was thinking deeply.
Usually, if Jin broke up with his girlfriend, his father will question him and scolded him if the reason for the breakup was a simple one. Jin thought that this time, it was no exception. Jin even ready to tell his father that Qiao An did not like Cleo, and that's why one of the reasons he broke up with Cleo. He could not get serious with someone that his sister dislikes, right?
"Nevermind then. Yesterday, my friend called me to ask if we want to form some connection with them. You know Mayor Wang?" Jin's father seemed unaffected with Jin's break up this time.
Jin nodded. Of course, he knew Mayor Wang; the Mayor in City T.
"His youngest daughter just came back from England. Go and see her. Maybe both of you are compatible."
The meaning of his father's words was – The mayor's daughter came back, so Jin needed to have a blind date with her. If anything goes smoothly, they might get married.
The reason why Jin's father tried so hard to set him up or to get him to settle down quickly, was because of the deal they made when Jin was about to enter the university a few years ago.
Since Jin did not want to study the course his father asked him to consider, they made a promise that Jin will take over the family business when he got married and settle down.
That was why Jin's father was so up-to-date with whom Jin was dating and tried to be supportive of Jin's choice of lady as long as she did not bring them harm.
Usually, when his father asked him to go and meet some ladies, Jin did not hesitate to say yes. After all, it could just be meet and greet kind of things. But this time, Jin was unwilling down to his heart.
Jin's father passed the contact information of Mayor Wang's daughter. Jin took the card reluctantly and said that he would contact the daughter soon. But actually, Jin knew that he would not get in touch with her.

Qiao An was in front of her house. She took a deep breath. Last night, she tidied up the slipper and put her mug in its original position where the handle was on the right. This morning, she tried to remember the layout of everything in the house. She wanted to check if anything moved or out of place after she came home from work.
As she opened the door, the first she checked was the shoe rack; all slippers and shoes were in their position. Next, Qiao An checked the mugs; the mugs lined up beautifully. Then Qiao An checked her locked room; nothing happened there too.
Nothing changed. It means that what happened before was just her feeling. She flopped down on the sofa and sighed with relief. Qiao An leaned on the couch, and her sight fell onto her bookshelf. She needed to read extra today since she did not read yesterday.
She kept on looking at the books. Something was not right. Qiao An gulped. She took her phone and called Shen Jun Shan.
"Jun Shan, I think someone was in my house."
