29 Pregnant

October walked calmly into her bedroom and sat on its edge. Her mind was blank and was not functioning like it had always been. Right now, she was experiencing the most utterly unprecedented situation she had encountered in her whole life which left her in such a huge shock. Never in her wildest imaginations to be in such predicament.

With her mind still floating in the clouds, she looked down on to her still flat tummy. Is this real? Is she really pregnant? Is she really carrying his baby?

If he knew about this, will he be happy about it? Will he acknowledge that this is his baby? Will he let her carry his baby? If not, will she still keep it? Will he even believe that this is his baby?

Without even her noticing, October's eyes began to sting and slowly let out a tear down to her smooth and pinkish face. For the first time in her life, she was overcome with emotions so foreign to her. Feeling something sliding down her face, she reached out her hand and touched her cheek. Blankly looking at it, it was a little wet. She blinked her eyes as she realized what it was.

It was clearly her tear. Even though there didn't had any obvious changes on her expression, she was in fact surprised at this. A tear was never shed even during her father's betrayal; however, at this moment, she was having one. What exactly was happening to her? Why was she this so...emotional?

Rubbing her belly and wiping her tear-stained cheek, she said in a voice so soft and warm, "Hey, I'm not sure if you can hear me but if you will have to be born into this world, I hope you will be strong enough to handle difficult situations. I'm sorry if I can't give you a complete family but let's try to be happy, just the two of us, okay? Baby, its just you and me right now."

The emotionless and expressionless person that people knew as the "Ice Director" was right now showing the most beautiful and warmest yet a sad heartbreaking smile she had ever showed as she talked to her baby. This smile was enough to melt people into a puddle of mess. Unfortunately, no one was able to witness this.

Although October accepted this inescapable situation, she suddenly remembered her grandfather. Reaching for her head, she kneaded it, realizing that she was really in a bind. She doesn't know how she should tell her grandfather about her pregnancy. Will he accept her child?

Above all the concerns she has regarding her grandfather, there is a very big possibility that her grandpa would want to know who the father is. Also, knowing her grandpa, he might force Lexus to marry her and if Lexus won't, her Grandpa might kill him. Such a situation was something she needed to prevent from happening.

Letting herself fall on her bed, she stared at her ceiling with wide eyes. Aside from that, she has to deal with the people at her work. Right now her belly is still flat but it will eventually show her bump. At that time, they will know that she's pregnant. When that time comes, she will have to deal with it alone.

Letting out a long sigh, she slowly got up from her bed and headed to her bathroom to clean herself. After that, she changed into her over-sized shirt and short shorts. Looking at herself on the mirror, she untied her messy bun, letting her hair cascading down her back in waves. Running her hand through her hair, she went out to the kitchen and into her fridge to get some food to eat. Doing that, she also poured herself a cup of milk.

She looked at the time on her phone and, surprisingly, it was still early. After eating, she went to sit on her couch and turned on the TV to watch some news with a boring look on her face. Switching from channel after channel, she then decided to watch a romantic-comedy movie.

As she watched the movie, she still felt nothing even though the female lead was crying over how heartbroken she was when she saw the male lead together with another girl. For her, such crying was a waste of time. Why cry over him if she can find someone better? Also, she doesn't even know the whole story but the female lead just watched from afar and cried silently.

With raised eyebrow, October looked at the female lead as if she was crazy. If it was her, she will...?

October stopped her thinking and was surprised at her train of thoughts. This was really a first to her. She then shook her head and decided to stop watching this bizarre movie while telling herself that she does not relate to any of this. She grabbed the remote control and switched the channel to watch some news instead.

In the midst of watching some news about a storm coming in, she heard her phone rang. Reaching out her hand to get her phone beside her and tuning down the volume of the TV, she answered the call without even bothering to check the caller ID, "Hello?"

"Granddaughter!" Grandpa He greeted with his jovial voice and let out a chuckle.

October felt like her heart just stopped for a moment as soon as she heard her grandpa's voice on the other end of the phone. Nervous, she tucked a stray hair behind her ear and made her voice to not crack, "What is it, grandpa?"

The old grandpa frowned when he heard the displeasure on her granddaughter voice. "What? Can't I just call my lovely granddaughter whenever I want?"

Touching her head, October replied, "No, that's not what I meant." She was more worried if her grandpa already knew about her situation.

"Hmph! Anyway, I just want to check on you if you are doing well. When are you going to see me here? Did you already forgot that you have a home here?" Grandpa He grumpily complained. He just missed his granddaughter so much. He was already ready to buy a plane ticket to City D; however, his darn assistant just has to intervene with his plans of seeing her granddaughter, saying that as the CEO, he has a lot of work to do and has to oversee the companies under him.

Hearing her Grandpa acting this way was a relief to October. It seems like her Grandpa still doesn't know about it. "About that, Grandpa, I'm still so busy with my work so it will take a while for me to visit you."

If she will delay this news, her Grandpa might hear it from someone else soon. However, right now, she still doesn't know how to tell this old man. Again, October was put in a very difficult spot. She will tell her Grandpa about it herself but now is not the time.

"Then, I will visit you there." Grandpa He declared loudly as his eyes glowed brilliantly. For him, this idea really was good but it wasn't as good for Assistant Ke who will have to arrange everything for this troublesome master of his.

"No!" October exclaimed without a second thought.

Grandpa He's eyes immediately turned sharp, however, he right away retracted it and returned it back to his mischievous eyes. "Why not?"

"That...You have a lot of work to do. Don't worry, I'll definitely visit you there." October instantly covered it up as she tried to even her tone of voice. Unfortunately for her, with her doting grandpa's sensitive hearing, she was already busted. "I have to go now, Grandpa. I need to finish reviewing this papers I have. Goodbye."

And thus, October runaway from her grandpa. She has yet to ready herself from telling her grandpa about this. She then slid herself to lie down on her couch and covered her face with a pillow as she wracked her brain on how to deal with this.
