Her question was subtly dismissed by her parents as they continued asking her if she was still feeling pain anywhere or was she bored or something.
Seeing as they were trying to avoid her question, Ding Jia didn't try pry on it any further. Her parents always loved and protected her, thus, this time they must've only thought about her well being.
Later that day, Lin Lin and Yu Xia, both of which were her manager and personal stylist respectively, visited her in the hospital.
Yu Xia dove straight into her arms the moment she saw Ding Jia, bawling like a kid while complaining to her how she had gained a couple of white hairs from worrying over her so much.
Lin Lin however was very cool about her news waking up, and had quickly arranged with the PR team about the press release for her current circumstances. Ding Jia could still read underneath her stoic face that she was really happy to see her due to the fact that her eyes was showing more emotions than usual.
Ding Jia smiled to herself. She did make a lot of people worry so much. Not only her family and friends, but also her fans that must've been waiting for her for quite a long time.
"Just focus on recovering." Lin Lin declared, while pouring some water on a glass. "I'll take care of all the reporters that will try to sneak into the hospital. The doctor said you'll have to undergo physical theraphy since you were comatosed for a year so your body wouldn't be able to function properly."
On her bedside was Yu Xia peeling the apples so skillfully and beautifully in one swoop of her knife. "Your fans are all looking forward on your return in front of the camera so just prioritize healing and recovering, that way you'll be able to get back to work faster."
"Thank you, Lin, Xia." Ding Jia expressed her heartfelt feelings to the two women. The three of them were actually childhood friends that lived together in one neighborhood. Even though they parted ways during college, they had quickly met and got back together a few years after when she was still starting from the bottom in her career.
The both of them supported each other through thick and thin and they were each other's bodyguards.
The both of them left after spending two hours with her in the hospital. She was left alone, both her parents left when her two friends came. They haven't returned so she was left to daze around in that luxurious room of hers.
The room was enveloped in complete silence. Only the sound of the water dripping from the IV bag, the sound of the humidifier, and her breathing. It was so peaceful that Ding Jia suddenly felt uncomfortable and nervous. She was confused as to why she was feeling like that.
She was just dozing off, looking straight ahead at the shut off television in front of her when the door slid open. Her head automatically following the sound, she saw the back of the white-dressed doctor closing the door.
Was he here to check her up again? Even though she had her check up this morning?
"How are you feeling?" The doctor wearing black-rimmed glasses had asked her. He was one of the doctors that had visited her this morning but he never spoke at all.
"Fine, so far."
"That's great." He was scribbling something on his clipboard while Ding Jia just kept staring at her. She couldn't pinpoint where but she was feeling weird seeing the doctor stand beside her. Or was she the weird one?
The doctor didn't ask her any questions and just kept scribbling something on his clipboard that was really taking quite awhile.
She shifted her attention to her blanket and fiddled with it while waiting for him to finish instead. A few seconds later, her heart almost stopped from shock.
What suddenly appeared in front of her was a hand covered in red blood. It looked so terrifying that she would've quickly dashed away if she could still run.
"Doctor, your hand..."
Her words abruptly stopped when she raised her head. Her eyes widened and she became frozen stiff on her bed. Her mind was repeatedly screaming the words 'Run away! Run away!' which she also thought was the right thing to do this time.
She blinked for more than ten times before reassuring herself that she wasn't hallucinating nor her eyes were playing tricks on her.
The white coat of the doctor was now bathed in blood, which woould've been normal if he had come from the ER after saving someone. But he wasn't.
Ding Jia knew that the doctor's coat was very clean when he entered her room. He wasn't covered in blood at all before. But in just a split second, he became too terrifying being on those blood-stained clothes.
With the doctor lowering himself as he held out his hand in front of her, the clothes he wore beneath the blood stained coat could be seen.
There, she saw a slashed part of the clothes which seemed to be the part where he bled. It was too ghastly to look at she had quickly shifted her sight away back to the doctor's face.
Her breath hitched.
The doctor was flashing her a smile that wasn't exactly a really good smile. It was similar to how a predator would look at his prey.
