Chapter five :Mommy Are You Ok?

"Katelyn?" I look up to see a nurse standing in between two big double doors that lead to a long hallway. "That's us." I grab Butter's, no Katelyn's, hand and follow the nurse to a room. I sit Katelyn on the bed and I sit in a chair on the other wall. "Mommy I'm scared." 

She look like she's scared so I smile trying to calm her down. "It's ok." She smiles back and we hear a knock on the door and the doctor walks in. He leans against the desk and signs into the computer. "Now, what's wrong with miss Katelyn?"

Katelyn site silently and fidgets with Her hands so the doctor looks at me. I look at Katelyn then back at him and sigh. "She's um.. she's okay." I grab Katelyn's hand and all out of the hospital with people's eyes following us. "I'm sorry mommy." I look down at Katelyn and she looks up at me. "Hey, you're okay. You did nothing wrong. We'll figure this out."

After about 20 minutes of walking I see mom's house but I turn away and walk into the Ice Cream Parlor. "Which do you want?" I point at all of the flavors but Katelyn shakes her head. All of a sudden I feel a major headache so we sit down at a table. I take my phone out and hand it to Katelyn who is sitting across from me at the round table.

I lay my head down and before I know it, it's 8:30 and I'm tired and I feel sick. I hear my phone ring but I keep my head down. "Who's calling me?" "Mommy are you ok?" I doze off for a second but wake back up. "I'm okay. Let's go home."

"Grandma is going to watch you while I lay down." I see my mom on the couch and I go upstairs to my room

I hear someone shut the door and someone speaks which I automatically know that it's Lilith. I sit up and see nothing but Katelyn. I get up and she runs and hugs me which I return.

"I missed you. Is mommy okay? She said she was but.." 'Hmm' I think to myself. "Where is she?" Katelyn points upstairs and I grab the thermometer out of the medicine cabinet in the kitchen and head up to Lilith's room. "Hunny. Are you okay?"

She groans and I walk over to her laying down in her bed and roll her over. I put the thermometer in her mouth then take it out after it beeps. "Oh my!" I get up and shut her door then rush back downstairs. "Katelyn, hunny. I need you to let your mommy sleep until tomorrow okay?" She nods and I walk into the living room then sit in my chair with Katelyn behind me. "Is mommy okay?" Katelyn starts to cry and I pick her up then put her into my lap.

"It's gonna be okay. She's just really sick. She should be better by tomorrow. Let's just let mommy sleep." Katelyn lays her head against my chest and sits sideways while fidgeting with her fingers. "Now, tell me about your day."
