I will leave this world

"What exact words did he use?" She grabs my shoulders and grimaces at me. "Tell me the exact words."

My mother is freaking me out.

Ever since I told her about the fae, she asked to reiterate everything again and again.

"He wanted to be my friend at first," I tell her, "I said that it was fine."

"That's all?" She looks at me suspiciously. "Did he use the word 'friends' only?"

I wreck my head. "He did use that word, but he said companion today. Doesn't it mean the same thing?"

"Companion," She utters through clenched teeth. "Did you confirm it?"

"I said: we are friends or companions," I answer her, "whatever you meant."

She smacks my head. "Why are you so stupid?"

"What did I do?" I rub the back of my head. "Companion and friend mean the same thing."
