Car Dealership ~ 14

CHAPTER 14

It was cold but muggy outside. We made our way to beach and I held up the phone to help guide Amelia to where I was.

We carefully trotted up to the 3rd little beach area, separated by rocks.

I laid down on my back exactly where I had awoken from. The sea splashed my legs again.

I waited.

Nothing happened.

I picked up Amelias phone from the sand next to me and I tapped at the letters, my fingers were shaky. It think she knew it didn't work because her phone was floating which meant I was still here.

'it didn't work... I'm never going to get home!' I typed and then handed back the phone.

"let's go back into the café, we can talk in there its still quiet.

Disappointed, I trailed behind her back to the café, my hopes were too high.

"OK, so if that didn't work then we will have to get you to your body in the hospital!" She forced a smile, I think she could sense my dissatisfaction.

I would have been excited to get to the hospital and try get home but we had a slight problem. The phone lay in the middle of the booth and we both sat in silence, deep in thought.

" I don't have a car.." she whined in realisation and sadness.

Carefully, I pulled the phone closer to me which made her jump a little. 'I could... Steal one... I mean I know how to drive so it wouldn't be you driving and you cant exactly arrest something you can't see.' she read it aloud.

"I suppose you have a point." she said unwillingly. "but where would we steal a car" she questioned.

' leave that to me' I typed.

And before she could even reply I was put of the door. I remembered seeing a car dealership next to one of the shops further up so I'd just steal on from there!

I strolled up the paths and walkways with my new found confidence until I got the car shop.

All of the fancy cars were parked in rows and a few had keys in them so people could test the windows and heating. But they all had people next to them, obviously to make sure nobody steals the cars.

I walked right past all the people, it was funny to be able be right next to someone and they wouldn't even notice. But now was the tricky part.

I had to open the car door, get in and close the car door, without them hearing.

The handle was smooth and easy to move, it was a brand new car. I was about to steal a brand new car.... What was I thinking? I yanked the handle towards my stomach and pulled open the big car door. It was quiet. They didn't hear me yet.

Slowly and as carefully as any person could with my arms and legs outstretched, I sat into the drivers seat. Being in that big car with both my hands on the steering wheel, it made me miss my home and my car and everything once had. I felt a sudden urge to be watching over Amelia and making sure she was safe. I could tell I didnt have much time, I was becoming a spirit.

Somehow I'd have to close the car door and while I was trying to come up with every - which way to do so the door slammed shut.

One of the workers closed it. "oi mate yo left the car door open." He exclaimed assumimgly.

"A! That werent me, mate!" he yelled back. "did ya check the keys? Take em out just in case yeh?" I panicked, as quickly as possible I turned the key and lit the egnition.

And it was gone. I could hear the men yelling behind me. "oi oi! " one of them yelled. And I saw the other mans mouth lipped 'I don't get payed enough for that' and I drove away.

I pulled up in front of the café where Amelia had just locked the front door and was standing, waiting.

I opened the passenger door to her, she knew it was me. She jumped in.

We had the car, now all we needed was to get to the hospital....
