CHAPTER 12: The first encounter

Riya`s entire body smacked to the person who just slightly moved back with the hit. She was very close to him but she didn't know who it was yet, as her head was completely dug into his chest while her hands took the support of the person`s broad shoulders. She hesitantly looked up to see a tall, young man who was just looking down at the person he had an encounter with.

Aryan realized who the person was. She was Riya, a new medical student whom his friend Kunal tried to lure. The first time he saw her was at the canteen where his table was quite far from hers, but now he got to see her from this close for the first time. Aryan was mesmerized by Riya's natural beauty.

He was in such a reverie that he didn't realize he had his hands on Riya's waist. As soon as he realized it, he moved his hands away from her. Riya was quick to respond too. She hesitantly said "Uh" after a short pause thinking of what to say, she continued "Uh, actually I didn't see you coming from that side. I was busy talking to my friend. I'm sorry."

Aryan looked straight in her eyes and told "You should be. It was after all your fault."

This made Riya really annoyed. Is this how someone responds to an apology?

Zoya patiently stood far and was seeing the entire thing happen when Kunal came from Aryan`s side and stood beside him. He high-fived Riya and said, "Hey Riya, what are you guys talking about?"

" Nothing, I was just apologizing to him as I ran into him. Doesn't seem like it was welcomed though" Riya said looking at Aryan.

To outsiders, it was a normal talk, but only Riya and Aryan knew what all was going in their minds.

"You even dare to mock me? you`ve got nerve for sure" he said in his mind.

"Wait for it Aryan. There is a lot I need to teach you a lesson for." she had a quick response in her mind.

Kunal finally stopped the war of words in their brains by distracting Riya. " Riya, I think one of us can come pick up you and your friends today evening."

"Oh no, we are all just going to come in a cab. Thanks for asking anyway," she said.

Kunal just nodded in agreement before saying"We'll be waiting for you at the mall then. Bye. Let's go

Aryan.

Both the boys moved off, leaving Riya there as she was thinking something deeply. Zoya took advantage of the situation and pulled away the letter from Riya`s hands. Only now did Riya realize that she was in a daze.

"What are you thinking about, huh?" Zoya questioned.

"Nothing, just wondering if I will even be able to get close to him? I mean he is such a cold-hearted person. Will I even be successful?"

" Don't worry about that. Things will fall in line automatically. All you need to do is try to get close to him. Its quite an easy task for you as you are already good friends with Kunal."

" I hope it is." Riya responded, after which she turned her gaze towards Zoya and said:" Oh, you managed to get the letter?"

Zoya responded with her eyes" Yes".

" Whatever, But I am not going to let go of this easily. You are having a nice, handsome and a 'true' date this time for sure."

" Let me also see how you do this without my agreement."Zoya challenged.

"Okay, we'll see."

"Yeah, we'll see"

Both the girls were looking at each other with a challenge between them when both of them broke into a burst of laughter.
