Story part 1

After accepting my thanks, Pengu disappeared from my sight in an instant. I guess it was smart enough to understand that my whole attention was now placed entirely on Eve. I guess that's another point for him, since that the ability that most of the people back on earth never learned!

With her body placed on the cold ground, I rummaged through my storage ring for a good while before finding some stuff that could be used as a provisory bed. By combining some of the internal organs of the animals that I hunted before and wrapping them all in the skin of the black beer, something resembling a soft mattress came to be.

Knowing what it is in reality, I was quite disgusted by it, but there was no denying that it was a really valuable piece of treasure. With all those parts making up the insides of the bed consisting of highly energetical parts of the fallen demonic beasts, the entire area around Eve's new place of sleep emanated with a strong aura.

I could only hope that this will be enough to help her regain some energy and wake up quickly!

Sitting down with nothing to do, I can only stare at the soles of my feet while I wait anxiously for the bed to take any effect of my beloved one.

"Blop!"

"You have 4 notifications in the mailbox!"

"Do you wish to hear them now?"

Wait, what? What mailbox? Did this damn system turn into a proper RPG one at this point? I'm already ashamed to be using such a cliched tool, so you could at least spare me some face and save me from those generic abilities! But it's not like I won't have any uses of them.

Yes, I wish to hear them now…

"Blop!"

"Due to enabling first autopilot ability, the focus mode is added to the system!"

"Due to unlocking focus mode, the mailbox is added to the system!"

"Blop!"

"Killed a soul hazard level cultivator!

"Earned 200 experience points!"

"Blop!"

"Executioner path enters a higher stage!"

"Blop!"

"All the messages from the mailbox got delivered to the host."

"Do you wish to hear them again?"

Ah, no. Forget it…

There is no point listening to them over and over again. I already have too much on my mind to let myself be bothered by Bonger's antics. I know Eve is just sleeping soundly on my newly made bed, but watching her breath is far more fascinating than reading the notifications all over again!

Speaking of Eve, as soon as I turn my attention back to her, she finally opens her eyes. Initially confused and panicky, as soon as she notices my presence, she managed to calm down rather quickly.

"What happened? Where are we?"

Well, without Pengu or anyone from his family in close proximity, this part of the forest looks almost the same as the rest of this big biome. There is no way I could ask her to recognise small patches of snow as an immediate hint that we went back!

"Pengu helped us to go back to his lair. Considering the state that we were in, I thought it would be dangerous to stay back there. As for those people, the expert was on the verge of dying from your great skill, I just finished him off. While I still managed to take the life of one more, the last small fry managed to escape."

While it already weights on my consciousness, I said it in a manner where I'm the one responsible for their deaths. It's not like I want to claim the deed of doing so, but I simply don't want to burden Eve with being the murderer!

"Oh… Come here for now!"

With a strange expression appearing on her face after hearing my explanation, she immediately extended her hands in my direction, clearly indicating where she wants me to appear.

Being the obedient husband-to-be, I didn't hesitate even for a second to take up on her invitation! Entering her hug, I placed my head on her chest and started to listen to her heartbeat. With one of her arm tightly hugging me to her body, she started brushing my head with her remaining hand.

"Calm down. I know how hard it is when it happens for the first time. I grieved for an entire week before I managed to come back to myself after my first kill."

With her soft whisper entering my ear, I couldn't help but shrug. No matter how comfortable and calming her bosom is, as someone from the earth, I simply can't accept myself being a killer! I perfectly know that if I hesitated and left them alive, the ones to rest in eternal sleep would be us! But that doesn't change the fact that I deprived someone else of his life with my own hands!

"Look, as far as I know, I'm a child of a retired Immortal who disagreed with some kind of organisation. Initially banished, they quickly took a great interest in someone like me, born from the marriage between an immortal and simple shopkeeper. Unwilling to let them take me, my father tried to run away with me, only to be killed while I ended up in some kind of laboratory of said organisation. With my days filled with pain, shame and powerlessness, I could only watch as they experimented on me through the day, while allowing their younger disciples to violate my body through the night. If not for the help of Stella, I would be a broken piece of meat right now. It was her, her master and master of her master that saved me from there and healed my wounds, including the stolen virginity that in the end, I was able to present to you. "

With my head still resting in the soft embrace of her breast, Eve started recounting her entire story that I saw bits off during our bonding process.

"While their raid on that place was swift, they still managed to catch the wind of us and give chase. It was that day, when I took my first life."
