Golden Goose Material Store

The trio soon arrived in front of a massive mall, it had multiple floors that pierced through the clouds into the sky. One could see all sorts of people walking around, most of them seemed very well off, wearing expensive clothing and brand name items. You could tell from a single glance that this wasn't a place meant for everyone, unless you had money to burn, coming here would just make you feel bad about yourself.

They walked in and were greeted by a new world, it was extremely futuristic. The elevators had no support and instead flew up and down by themselves, there were teleportation pods that could directly take you to different floors, but they seemed to be VIP only. Cain's eyes nearly popped out of his head, he felt disoriented like he had just stepped onto a new planet.

"You two go enjoy yourselves, there's a few things I have to get. I'll meet up with you guys later"

Cain decided to split off from these lovebirds since he had no plans of being a third wheel. He quickly found an android and asked it where the material shop was, finding out it was a place called the 'Golden Goose Material House.' He took a floating elevator and quickly got there, he realized an entire floor was dedicated to this store alone. There were androids guiding customers and all sorts of materials, from common items, to extremely rare objects.

Cain needed the hawk eye gem as the core for the gene, it came from a low tier beast called the Gem Hawk, and shouldn't be too expensive. He quickly found it and purchased it for 100 credits, the hawk eye was a tier 3 gene, so its material cost a bit more than the sharp nail gene he had previously practiced with. He quickly bought enough materials to attempt 10 tries, before browsing around a little.

Some of the material here could cost Cain his entire wealth, and some were even more expensive, he suddenly realized how ignorant he was by thinking he was wealthy before, and further realized why genetic research was such an expensive career. The store didn't only sell materials however, it also sold elixirs, medicines, and formulas. Cain was a little interested in some formulas since he currently only knew two, so he wanted to open his eyes.

"Massive Hand Gene Formula - Increase the size of your hand, boosting your strength"

"Butterfly Wing Gene Formula - Gain butterfly wings to increase movement speed"

"100 Scent Nose Gene Formula - Increase your noises sensitivity tremendously"

Cain suddenly felt like a child in a candy factory, each formula was alluring and he wanted to buy them all to increase his experience, but unfortunately he had a limited amount of wealth and could only choose a few. He eventually decided and chose the flash step gene, and the butterfly wing gene, both were very popular and were only tier 3 genes, so they weren't that difficult to create.

"Attention all shoppers, the Golden Goose Material Store will be having an auction soon. Please sign up online if you wish to join"

Cain decided to join for just for the fun of it, he still had plenty of credits left and he might find something decent. He found a place to sit, before logging on with his virtual reality watch, his eyes suddenly went black before opening up in what seemed to be an auction house. The VR watch could directly hook people into VR worlds, everyone in this age had one and it was a popular commodity.

A beautiful looking young maid walked into cain's room and handed him some drinks and deserts. Even though you couldn't eat in VR, you could still taste everything fully, hence this stuff could still be enjoyed. Soon the auction started, the first few items were basic stuff and went for around 15,000-50,000 credits. There hadn't been anything that had caught Cain's eye yet however, but suddenly the auctioneer said something that nearly made Cain jump out of his seat.

"Next up for auction is an incomplete formula for the fast gene"

Cain had always been thinking about his future path, and his slow gene was getting close to reach its limit, hence he had to soon decide about a new gene to get. It would be best if it was something compatible so that he could fuse them in the future and get an even better gene. The problem that most Genetic Warriors encounter is the incompatibility of their genes. They end up choosing a second gene that doesn't fuse properly with their original gene which will end up becoming a roadblock in the future

Unless they are strong enough to fuse a third gene into themselves, most of them end up stuck there forever. Plenty of Genetic Warriors end up succumbing to this, which is why you have to think about what your second gene is thousands of times before making a choice.

While the fast gene sounded like the complete opposite of the slow gene, they actually both came from the exact same source, which is time. So they have extremely high compatibility, as long as Cain can get his hands on this gene, even though its incomplete, he'll have an idea for his future path.

"10,000 credits"

"25,000 credits"

"100,000 credits!"

Cain decided to go all out and pray that the other competitors stop their bidding. Cain's luck was quite good and the fact that this was an incomplete gene made it less desirable, giving Cain the proper chance to strike.
