The Sects Founder

A few days later, the Greenwood Faction exited their base with their backs straight and their faces proud. It seemed their session of training went by very successfully, so now they had full confidence to defeat the Flame Rebel Faction. They applied for a challenge and naturally the Flame Rebel Faction accepted, they knew the Greenwood faction had a new recruit but they weren't worried.

"Ha, I thought after we beat you last time you guys had given up. Oh well, me and my group don't mind teaching you guys another lesson."

The leader of the Flame Rebel Faction went straight to trash talking. His teammates broke into laughter hearing him speak. They looked at the Greenwood faction members with arrogance, clearly not putting them in their eyes.

"Don't get too cocky. You only won last time because you managed to get a new recruit faster than we did. Now it's time for payback"

"You think just because you managed to get someone to raise your numbers you can win? Finding scrapes is easy, but finding a gem is hard. I doubt the person who joined your team is anything special. After all, how could anyone with talent join a group of losers like you"

"Enough. Let's talk with our fists, words are empty after all"

The two factions got up on the arena, a few disciples had heard about this fight and decided to come watch. The sect was rather boring, since all you could do was train or complete missions, so people would often watch events like this just for fun. Cain's current role was support, he was meant to watch out and help his teammates if he noticed them struggling. Naturally this was a waste of his strength, but he didn't mind, he was here to help out ultimately.

The second the fight started, the two factions rushed at each other. Cain stood back and merely helped when he could. He didn't want to stand out too much so he decided to only go all out if his team was about to lose. However it seemed his worries were unnecessary because they managed to slowly overtake the other team. Eventually Lefric landed a heavy blow on the other team's leader, knocking him out of the arena.

"Hmph, all your big talk but you've already lost. I was expecting more of a challenge. You guys are nothing special after all."

Aliz didn't waste her chance to curse at the Flame Rebel Faction

"So what, you've only beaten us once meaning we're currently tied. Just prepare yourself, we'll come back for this humiliation one day."

"As if were scared of you. Come back to challenge us whenever you want, our Greenwood faction isn't afraid"

The battle was over and Cain hadn't really done much other than support. However he was glad, if he won the battle for them then they would get no pleasure from it. It would almost feel like cheating. The group headed back to the faction house, but Cain decided to split off from them. He hadn't been to the genetic research lab in a while and he wanted to see if anything was going on. If he was lucky he might catch another lecture.

When he reached the lab, there was unfortunately no lecture. He wasn't bothered though, there were still plenty of books he hadn't gone through. Browsing through the library he checked book after book, looking for something that peaked his interest. He headed towards the end of the library, this area of the library was decrypt and old, but Cain always believed that gold was hidden under the dirt. At last he stumbled upon an old book, this book seemed as old as the sect itself since it was nearly falling apart. Had it not been made out of high grade materials it would have turned to dust a long time ago.

'The Autobiography of Mogel Belmon'

Cain had heard this name before, it was the name of the person who had created the Divine Perception Sect. He was curious as to why an autobiography of him was hidden in this public library, it seemed no one knew about it because something like this would be considered a sect treasure. He asked the librarian and learnt that the higher ups of the sect had copies of the book, they decided to leave the original here because it was already in poor condition and they wanted disciples to learn about their sects founder. Cain naturally was interested about the man who founded the sect, so he delved into the book.

"If you are reading this, odds are I am already dead. This sect was merely something I created in the passing, however by the time my life was over I realized it was the only home I had left, so I decided to leave this book here. This book will go over my life, and all the things I've accomplished. I am not afraid of death, however I am afraid of being forgotten"

Cain read through the entire book in one sitting. There were ups, and downs, and moments when he nearly broke out into tears. The book was truly well written and went over all of Mogel Belmons life. He was born as an ordinary child however he refused to be left to mediocrity, so he fought. He fought all his life and became a hero whose name resounded across the universe. Unfortunately he discovered a secret he wasn't powerful enough to protect. He was chased down by his enemies and eventually had to come back to the sect, and left his autobiography here. The secret he unrecovered was never revealed, and it seemed that even after death his enemies didn't get what they wanted. After finishing, when he was about to put the book away, he accidentally cut his finger on the edge of a page. The blood poured down the edge and into the center of the book, as if it was being absorbed. Suddenly the book gave off a resplendent light and a voice boomed into Cain's head.
