The first day of training was boring. Sparrow spent the entire day lecturing us on what to touch, what not to touch, and what not to touch under any circumstances unless we wanted our kneecaps broken with her cane. Darian and I mainly just sat and listened, sometimes making a remark that she shouldn't have heard, but still earned us a death like scowl. When our lessons were done Darian and I just sat around outside, commenting on Sparrow and her type of teaching, which somehow led to us fighting. The bed issue was resolved once Darian and I came to an agreement, but not without a fight or two.
For the next year we had made a schedule of sleep, eating, lessons and play. Usually the play was fighting each other. Little did we know that Sparrow was relieved we knew how to fight. Our dreams had seemed to start coming true more often than not. We had started taking turns using the bed and we had made a nest of blankets and pillows in the corner for the one who had to sleep on the floor. We were also sent on supply runs to the city. Lately though we were trying to take more and more time between trips to the city. Recently the human soldiers had occupied the city for reasons unknown to us.
Originally they had just wandered about keeping an eye on us. But then they started collecting tax. Which led to harassment. They would start searching us before we entered government buildings or specific facilities. It had started to become disturbing. Especially when violence started because of them.
But today we were desperately low on supplies because we had procrastinated for over three weeks. Sparrow finally tossed a coin purse at us and shoved us out the door locking it behind us.
"Don't come back until you have what I need" she shouted and we sighed.
"Let's get this over with." Luca sighed and I groaned.
