In the hospital, a boy with brown hair and blue eyes woke up, startling the nurses and doctors. The boy had been an unidentified orphan since he was found outside the village gates as a newborn baby. His entire life he'd been like a zombie, showing no life in his eyes and doing everything he was told without any reaction. One day an annoyed drunk told the kid to jump of off a roof to become a real ninja, and the kid did so. The man rushed the kid to the hospital, but it was determined that the child would never wake up again.
After several checkups, they asked several questions. Kuma answered everything the best he could, and his name was changed from Unwon(Short for Unknown) to Kuma. He was sent back to the orphanage the next day, and everyone there was quite confused to see him full of curiosity and life. In fact, they outright avoided him, which didn't really bother Kuma much. He'd never been too social in his past life, so the solitude was comfortable.
When he got to the academy however, the reactions he got from everyone was quite a variation. Some were scared of him, some were curious, and some were actually relived. Iruka sensei was the only one who actually had the initiative to speak to him though. "So you remember your name is Kuma now? Do you remember anything that I've taught you?" They were speaking outside of the classroom, as Kuma had trouble with some of the classwork.
"Sorry, I think I'll remember it eventually, but besides that I don't really remember much Sensei." Kuma said with a helpless shrug.
Iruka sighed, and opened the door for them to re-enter the classroom. "Everyone listen up!" He got everyone's attention and gestured to Kuma. "Some of you might not know this, but Unwon got into an accident two days ago. While his condition has been cured, he only remembers his real name being Kuma, so I ask everyone be nice and help him out. That's all." Iruka smiled at Kuma and nodded at him to speak.
Kuma looked towards everyone and beamed with a smile. "Hi, name's Kuma. I'm sorry if I bother anyone, I'm the type who just moves on as long as you don't make it worth it to bother you more."
A black haired kid wearing a hoodie snarled at him. "What's that supposed to mean?" Kuma instantly focused his attention on the boy with a crazy glint in his eyes. "It means your face is ugly, you smell, and bite me you runt."
The entire classroom went silent, before the black haired kid rushed at Kuma in a blind rage. Iruka kept him at Bay while Kuma rolled on the ground in laughter. Losing his patience, Iruka reprimanded both of them. After class was over however, Kuma approached the kid and held out his hand. The kid was standing with another black haired kid who wore glasses, a kid with a pineapple hairstyle, and a chubby kid. "Hi, what's your name?" Kuma asked.
The three boys stared at him in silence before the pineapple kid spoke up. "I'm Shikamaru. The one you annoyed is Kiba, and the one with glasses is Shino." Shikamaru sighed after the introductions. Kiba glared at Kuma quietly, while Shino just kept a blank stare. "You know, I don't mind the attention, but I'm not interested in guys."
Both Kiba and Shino stared at him in confusion, while Shikamaru eyes almost bulged out and was rendered speechless. Seeing his reaction caused Kuma to go into another fit of laughter until the other two caught on to the joke. Kiba tried to beat him up, but Shikamaru held him back. "It's no wonder you don't have friends." Shino said offhandedly, however those words instantly caused Kuma to stop laughing and stare at the soft spoken boy.
"At least I'm friendly. I might be a little weird, but all I do is usually just to mess with people. " Kuma turned to Kiba. "I'm sorry if I made you mad, but I don't know anyone and I'm not really good with introductions. I also hate awkward meetings, so I just wanted to get the attention of the easiest person in the room." Kiba and Shikamaru stared at him in shock.
Kuma stared at them back, and there was silence for a full minute before he turned back to Shino. "Too much?" He asked, and Shino took a moment before nodding.
