Welcome to the middle (3)

Earlier at Group 3 :

"Wow, it's Mu Lian-Xiong ah! Small world ah!" Wen Jun exclaimed as he handed in his number plate.

"Tsk." Mu Lian, with arms crossed and frowning, looked towards Ye Chen and Mu Yang's group in the distance.

"Don't be so cold, after so much time spent together, we can also be considered friends." Wen Jun smiled.

"..." Mu Lian looked away and ignored the young handsome cultivator in black.

"Ahh...greetings to my group mates, I am Zhu Si En from JianZhu Sect." a youthful female cultivator dressed in blue greeted Mu Lian and Wen Jun awkwardly as she stood near them.

Mu Lian looked in surprise at the young female cultivator.

Zhu Si En is a famous name in the cultivation world. Recruited as a direct disciple of the Sect Master in the same year she entered JianZhu Sect, Zhu Si En displayed swordsman skills parallel to a seasoned high-level cultivator. However, Zhu Si En at this moment doesn't seem to be carrying her sword with her - which is quite strange since their specialization is swords.

"Mu Lian-Xiong, if you keep staring at the lady so intensely you might burn a hole in her." Wen Jun laughed and politely greeted Zhu Si En.

"Wen Jun of GongCi Sect and Mu Lian of TianAn Sect. I have long heard of the swordsmanship of Zhu Guniang*, It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance."

"Not at all, the pleasure is mine instead, I have also heard of both Wen Gongzi and Mu Gongzi, please give me your guidance." Zhu Si En replied shyly and she looked at Mu Lian's direction, her pale green eyes carrying a strange atmosphere.

Mu Lian nodded in acknowledgement and continued to meditate while waiting for the rest of the groupmates.

When everyone was gathered, they departed to their designated cabin 3. And in an unfortunate turn of events, the random box decided that Mu Lian and Wen Jun will share the same room. And thankfully they had 2 females in the group so everyone was evenly assigned to their rooms.

"Eh, lessons in the morning???" Wen Jun sighed as he cleaned up the dusty room assigned to him. "Do you think we will see everyone else there during lessons?"

-No response-

"I'm talking to you eh! What are you doing?" Wen Jun peeked over and saw Mu Lian reading something.

Mu Lian was studying the map given to them and quickly identified the distance between all buildings. All cabins are randomly scattered close to the Main Hall but the cabins on the map were unmarked. So he was not able to find out where group 19's cabin might be.

"Are you looking for your brother's and Ye Chen's group?" Wen Jun asked.

"Mm" Mu Lian gave a mild response and continued to study the distance between the cabin and the main hall.

"So lucky to be in that group ah! If I had known I would have asked Ye Chen to swap with me" Wen Jun sighed again and sat beside Mu Lian.

"Why didn't you?" Mu Lian suddenly replied.

Although he was shocked at a proper sentence coming out of Mu Lian's mouth, Wen Jun casually replied saying that he didn't know Mu Yang was going to be in that group and continued with grumbling and cursing at the dust going into his nose.

Because most of the cabins are situated in the middle of the forests, the distance between most cabins and the main hall was generally quite far. To get to the main hall where they are supposed to attend their lessons would take roughly around an hour by walking. Of course, cultivators who have learned skills such as riding on their spiritual beast, flying on their swords or speeding up their walking using spiritual powers can get there in less than half the time needed for normal walking.

There are those without spiritual powers - the silver people that may struggle getting to the main hall at the same pace as gold people. Mu Lian frowned as he knew that silver people are discriminated against and believed that very soon there will be more disharmony.

While Mu Lian was deep in thought, he was interrupted by Wen Jun.

"Mu Lian-Xiong, that is one exquisite weapon. Does it have a name?" Wen Jun pointed towards his flute.

"Liming." Mu Lian's cold eyes softened as he recalled back to the time when he was given the flute by his parents.

Spiritual weapons are usually given names as a form of respect as it would follow them for life. As it was the first time Mu Lian was asked to name a weapon, he did not know where to begin.

Madam Mu suggested him to name it something important to him and thus, Mu Lian, at the age of seven decided on the name Liming**.
