Returning with Supplies

Yun and his men approached the enemy camp after taking out the scouts that were patrolling the area when they notice the carriage with supplies and Yun turns to Huang Zhong who only nods.

Yun then moved around the camp while looking at who the General of the people could be when he noticed that everyone was in position.

This didn't give him enough time but he couldn't delay the surprise attack since soon the scouts would change turn or the person in charge will find out that people are missing since they didn't report.

Yun gave the signal holding five fingers up which the nearby troops could see and gave to the other. Once they nod at him Vincent nods and begins to count to five before everyone stormed the enemy camp giving a war cry.

The enemy was confused but reacted immediately as Yun was in the middle of the battle killing people left and right trying to find the enemy General. He walked through the battlefield covering his armor in blood as the fighting soon stopped and he looked around.

Soon Huang Zhong catches up with him and says, "We secured the supplies and some horses that they must have been using for their cavalry. What do we do now?"

"We take them back to Yangren. The General of those troops must have retreated earlier and wanted his men to rest for a day before they begin to march," says Yun as he has only seen headless chickens on the battlefield.

"Do you think they knew about our attack?" asks Huang Zhong as Yun shakes his head.

"I don't think so or they would have taken the soldiers with them. Anyway, we secured supplies that should keep us well feed until Sun Jian arrives," says Yun when he looks at the ground that was covered in blood.

"What about the horses?" asks Huang Zhong as they secured them to pull the carriage with supplies.

"Can I see them first," says Yun as Huang Zhong nods bringing him to the horses while Yun commands Tang Shi to recover their dead comrades to bury them.

Yun arrives at the horses which Huang Zhong and the others secured while the battle was ravaging in the enemy camp.

Yun touches one of the horses and feels its muscles seeing that some are trained while others were just farm animals.

"We will keep the trained ones. The others we will hand over to the villagers of Yangren. They will need help to prepare the field once we aren't here," says Yun as training a horse is an expensive thing to do.

"Yes, my lord," says Huang Zhong when Yun tells them to return with the supplies while he helps cleaning the field.

He lost some men in this battle but it was nothing compared to the numbers the enemy has suffered today. They piled the enemy up before burning them down.

Yun was watching that from the first row until the fire consumed everything then he and the remaining soldiers returned to Yangren.

Once at the gate of Yangren, the sun was over their heads and they knew that they wouldn't be sleeping until the sun goes down but somehow everyone was wondering how Yun's armor wasn't soaked in blood any longer.

They enter the town finding the people preparing food to consume it right away while Yun just went a bucket of water which he uses to clean himself as did the other soldier that returned since they didn't want to taste blood in their meal.

It was also the best moment to see if they are injured somewhere since the adrenaline was slowly letting them go.

"I want you all to eat a bit and go to sleep. The Archers and Cavalry unit will make sure everything is alright while we sleep," says Yun as he was also exhausted from fighting the whole day.

"Yes, sir," say the soldiers as Yun finished cleaning himself before grabbing a bowl with porridge to not upset his stomach.

He sat down on the ground and gulped it down before looking around seeing how the injured were treated by the town folk and the other soldiers before he cleaned the bowl and placed it back to be used again.

He went to the place he was staying while talking to some of his men on the way when he encounters Cheng Pu with Sun Quan.

Yun petted Sun Quan's head while asking Cheng Pu, "What do you need, Cheng Pu?"

"I was wondering from where you got those supplies?" asks Cheng Pu but he could see that Yun was sleepy.

"I little night raid on the enemy. We defeated them and took their supplies but the enemy commanders were nowhere to be found which seems that they retreated before my attack," says Yun as he let go of Sun Quan.

"You should get something to eat. But don't eat too much or your stomach will take vengeance for filling it too much," says Yun jokingly to Sun Quan who nods cutely at him.

Sun Quan then rushes to get something to eat when Cheng Pu says, "I heard that you have children but I didn't know you could handle them this well."

"I have practice, I have a student that I took in. He was twelve back then now he is seventeen and my twins are about to hit six this year. They can be quite the troublemaker compared to your young master, Sun Quan," says Yun as he looked at the young boy walking between the soldiers and he doesn't feel intimidated by them.

"Thank you for the praise," says Cheng Pu as Yun looked around.

"Where is Sun Ce?" asks Yun as he felt that Sun Ce was a risk factor for the well-being of Yangren at the moment since he only follows his father's orders.

"He is still sleeping," says Cheng Pu as Yun sighs.

"Well, I will also hit the ground for today. My body feels quite heavy from all the fighting," says Yun as he enters the house and removed his armor from his body.

Then he lays his back against the wall before closing his eyes. Yun slept through the day and night when he woke up. He stood up and began to stretch his body before putting his armor back on and picks up his spear.

He leaves the house and he finds Dian Wei holding someone down and he asks, "What's going on Dian Wei?"

"Nothing much just a little thief trying to steal some supplies," says Dian Wei as he turns around holding the teen up with one hand.

"So why did you steal some of the supplies, didn't I and my men treat you all well? Or is it because something happened in your family?" asks Yun as he knew something must have happened yesterday while he was sleeping.

"We didn't get anything to eat from the red soldiers after the black soldiers left to rest," says the teen as Yun's eyes slowly closed.

"All the soldiers wearing red or just some?" asks Yun since he didn't believe that all of Sun Jian soldiers would do that.

The teen thought for a moment before he says, "Not all put those that were left responsible over the cooked food. They rather ate it themselves than share it with the civilians as the soldiers in black do."

"I will deal with the situation. Dian Wei, let the boy go," says Yun as Dian Wei places the teen on the ground again.

The teen left and Yun turned to Dian Wei with fury in his eyes as he says, "Let solve this situation fast before this becomes a riot."

"Riot?" asks Dian Wei as Yun nods.

"Most of my men belonged to the Yellow Turbans. What do you think will happen if they find out that Sun Jian's men are confiscating the food from the people?" says Yun as Dian Wei realized what Yun meant.

"They will antagonize Sun Jian's army instead of the men responsible for that," says Dian Wei as Yun nods.

"And once they find out that the civilians are hungering because of them they might attack Sun Jian's army which will place us in a difficult position since we would need to defeat Doing Zhuo as well as the whole Coalition who thinks that we betrayed them just to get home," says Yun calmly as Dian Wei didn't want to imagine how much fighting that would be when Yun walked away.

"Where are you going, my lord?" asks Dian Wei as he followed Yun.

"We are going to meet with Cheng Pu. He might have an answer to our question," says Yun as he walked towards where Cheng Pu, Sun Ce, and Sun Quan were staying.

He didn't need to go far to find Cheng Pu talking to some of the commanders of Sun Jian's army when Yun approaches him.

"Cheng Pu, we need to talk," says Yun holding his anger back since it won't help him to unload it on an innocent person.

"What can I do for you, General Zhao?" asks Cheng Pu noticing that something must be wrong.

"Some civilians have complained to me that some of your soldiers didn't hand over the food prepared for everyone yesterday while my men were resting or patrolling the area," says Yun as Cheng Pu was confused which showed Yun that he was innocent.

"I can see that you are innocent but I need the person that is responsible for all this or a riot may break out and my men will stand beside the civilians when that happens even if we are getting paid to fight with you against Dong Zhuo," says Yun as he wanted it to be resolved fast and Cheng Pu should be the best to solve this problem fast.

"Also, I will make Dian Wei here in charge of the supply from now on until Sun Jian returns," says Yun as Dian Wei was surprised by Yun's decision.

"Dian Wei, we are moving," says Yun leaving again so Cheng Pu can find the person responsible for that incident while Dian Wei follows Yun.

"My Lord, do I really have to watch the supplies?" asks Dian Wei as he felt that Yun was degrading him.

"Yes, it is as important as my life," says Yun knowing what Dian Wei was feeling.

Dian Wei was surprised by that sentence when Yun continues, "If we run out of supplies before Sun Jian arrives we will hunger and die. We can't have that and you are one of the people I trust the most. I wouldn't give you this task if it wasn't far more important than my life."

"Alright, my lord," says Dian Wei as he bowed to Yun before he went to take his new position with his men while Yun returned to his routine which continued with his spear training.
