Technological system

The voice was coming from inside his head. It was a very emotionless mechanical voice.

"Ding! Do you wish to Bind with System?"

"Bind"

"Ding!

Binding to Technological System has been completed.

The host must work hard to bring advanced technology and development into this world." A cold voice said.

Landon was both stunned and excited inwardly. "System, why did you choose me?" Landon blinked curiously while asking.

"When the host was on earth, the host had an IQ of 260.

Currently, the host was the smartest dead person available from earth, which allowed this system to bind with the host.

With the host's high IQ level, it will be easier to access the system's knowledge. The system has a minimum IQ requirement of 250."

Back on earth, high I.Q levels started from 160 and went upwards.

There were people with I.Q levels of 220, and well as those with 310..... Landon had a 260 I.Q level.

Having a great I.Q didn't always mean that these people were smart in all aspects of life...

Some people were only super-geniuses with computers and failed in other aspects like medicine and so on... some also had no social understanding of the world.

"So I was the smartest dead person...that makes sense... wait? what? System, are you sure?"

"Answering to host, Yes. There are smarter people back on earth, but they are all still alive. Due to the host's fortunate death, you became the next best thing."

Landon almost coughed out blood when he heard the system.

'fortunate for who?

For you or me?

Anyway, there was no need for him to think about it anymore.

What's done is done', he thought.

"system, how do I use you?"

"The System will give you a task based on the situation of your Kingdom.

If the host lacks the right raw materials for development, the system will provide it as a reward or sell it to you.

Once the task is completed, the host will be rewarded.

Also, the host can buy basic equipment from the system that will be helpful towards the host's missions."

"Buy basic equipment? "

"Yes, the host can buy equipment with development, technology and bonus points. Development points are gotten when the host uses knowledge from the system to better the host's kingdom.

Technology points are gotten when advanced technology is created, while Bonus points are obtained when the host uses his own intellect to create new inventions or solve major issues. The system has unlimited levels.

The higher you go, the harder it is to complete the levels.'

A screen popped up in front of Landon showing his current information:

>Host name: Landon Barn

>Age: 15

>Status: Banished prince of Arcadina (New King of Baymard)

>Level: Beginner

>Current Situation: Stupidly weak. If the host were to stand out in the wind for a long time, the host will be blown away by it. (Poisoned with Nolat Wisp).'

Landon didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

'Was it my father? Or my half-siblings?

Dammit!!

I just arrived here and I'm already poisoned?

No wonder I felt like dying when mom and Lucy shook me earlier.

I almost thought those two were undercover bodybuilders.

To think I was poisoned when leaving the kingdom.

I was already banished, so why couldn't they just let me be?

Tchh!!

Whoever you are, you better not let this daddy catch you...heheheh.'

Suddenly, a Christmas-like box popped up on the screen, startling him;

"System Starter Pack: Knowledge on the Introduction to Farming (Host needs to develop his land before creating advanced tools to aid his people).

As an additional bonus, the system will cure the host completely while giving host greater strength than the average person."

Landon felt excited and clicked on the package.

Immediately, a wave of knowledge burst through his brain. At the same time, he could feel his body getting stronger.

Once he was done digesting the information, he looked at his wrist and was shocked. His hand, which recently looked like a ghost's body had started changing.

As time passed on, his body looked more and more human.

Once he was done assessing his body, he looked at the Mission tab. There were two primary missions.

[Mission: Is your land really Barren? Use your farming knowledge to fix the problem of food shortage. Your empire must be strong enough to protect its future technology.

For the empire to be strong, its people need to be strong as well. Cure the land.

Sub-Mission: Use the system to map out territory for future purposes.

Reward: The host will also get knowledge on gunpowder and cannon making. As well as receive 100 development points.

Deadline: No specific time frame needed.]

Landon thought it was reasonable.

If people grew hungry in his territory, no one would want to work or fight to defend Baymard. He needed food first, before anything else.

He then clicked the second mission and began to read its content.

"Mission: Gather enough points to complete level 1

Requirements: 2000 development points and 10,000 technology points needed.

Deadline: No specific time frame needed

Reward: Level Two Unlocked."

Landon shrugged.

'I would do it anyway, so it isn't a serious mission.

Besides, I'll need so many points.

It will take at least five missions or more before I can level up...'

"System, can you tell me about the current world?"

"Answering host, the current world, Hertfilia, comprises of 9 continents. The continent the host currently lives in is called Pyno.

Pyno has five empires; Arcadina, Carona, Deiferus, Terique and Yodan. Each empire has at least 25 major cities, 40 minor cities and more than 70 towns. The host's current city is called Baymard. It was the third-largest city in Arcadina."

"System, tell me the Situation with Baymard," he asked curiously.

"Baymard occupies 6,000 square kilometres. Comparing it to the host's world, it was bigger than Chicago or Atlanta... but slightly similar to Tokyo's size.

The system has assessed that there are currently 1582 individuals living there.

Ordinary towns and villages in the empire have at least 10,000 people living in them, while major cities have over 1 million people staying in them.

So the host's empire falls too short as a major city.

Baymard is currently unable to reach a standard village's requirements; with almost no food in the territory and extreme starvation, Baymard is the most deserted area within the empire.

Host, being in Baymard, would be like being in the desert with no food and water. That's why you need to cure the land host.

The people who live in the land get their food from fishing and farming.

But it's never enough for the entire population.

The winters in Baymard are also extremely cold, resulting in multiple deaths." The system said.

'Was the system trying to scare him?

Although he knew that the system would not lie, it was still a harsh reality.

It was like someone had given him the entire Atlanta city and then poured sand everywhere, making it a Sahara desert.

All that wasted land... sigh...

Baymard itself wasn't a desert, but it hadn't been bearing enough crops for decades; only 3% of what was planted survived.

He had already made up his mind to cure the damn land.

At least now he had a plan.

Landon looked at the carriage and couldn't help grumbling.

One could see that it was completely worn out, and looked like a carriage that commoners used... not that he minded anyway.

But he was still shocked at how a father could treat his child like this. The King didn't even want to spend money to send them off.

'What a stingy man,' Landon thought while shaking his head.

Just as he was about to get out and look for his mom, Lucy came in.

She looked at him and was startled while blinking several times.

'Brother Landon is looking like his old self again,' she inwardly exclaimed.

"Brother Landon, you are looking better already. Would you like to eat inside the carriage or outside?"

"It's alright.. I'll eat outside."
