After tasting the blood from the Crimson wolf, Hóngsè felt a blast of heat course through her body. The extreme temperature felt as if she was experiencing the body heat that the beast somehow contained. It felt as if her body was melting.
On multiple occasions, Hóngsè fainted from the pain. After a few seconds, she would wake up again and the process would start all over again. "AAAAHHHH! STOP, STOP! MAKE IT STOP PLEASE! IT HURTS IT HURTS!" Hóngsè screamed. Tears of anguish and pain began to stream down her face but would quickly evaporate.
Her clothes caught on fire due to the heat and began to burn away. Ashes from the clothes began to fall on the ground but Hóngsè paid no heed. She was to busy trying not to succumb to the pain.

Back at the village, all was calm and quiet. Lila, the sleeping receptionist, suddenly woke up and looked at the stars. For some reason, the air felt like it was alive with energy and bloodlust. Lila felt a tear suddenly slide down her cheek. She began to think that for the first time ever, Hóngsè could not keep her promise.

It has been two days of constant pain. Hóngsè already lost her voice from screaming within the first few hours. She has finally numbed to the pain. She was just laying there with her body throbbing. There was no more light in her eyes but she was still breathing.
After a while, Hóngsè was finally able to get a bit of feeling in her body. Slowly she began to move her body little by little. Eventually she was able to get on her hands and knees. She felt so hungry and the only thing that was nearby that she could eat was the carcase of the Crimson Wolf laying on the ground. Hóngsè reached for the body and slowly began to eat away at the flesh. Her hunger increases and she began to eat faster and faster. Eager to consume everything, Hóngsè ate all of the Crimson wolf's body except for the head.
Looking at the head and bones of the once proud and the ferocious beast, Hóngsè no longer felt any fear. All she felt was a sense of sadness for the poor beast. Now that she had some food in her system, she was able to move and think much easier. Hóngsè then pushed herself up and grabbed the head of the Crimson Wolf. she still had that quest to complete, might as well.
She stuffed the head into her makeshift sack and turned toward the direction of the small town. When she began walking towards the town though, she felt a sudden pull on her heart higher into the mountain. It felt as if there is some kind of thing she must be responsible for.
Confused and curious on what was going on, Hóngsè started to follow the pulling of her heart. She began to make here way up the mountain and the air became thinner and thinner as she walked. The air was getting cold and the pressure felt unusually light on her body. This was starting to get dangerous. No human should be able to live in this environment. But for some reason, Hóngsè was hardly struggling.
After continuing on for some time, she noticed that the air got unusually warm, and for some reason, Hóngsè's heard was drawn to it. As she pushed away a fern that was in the way, she say a litter of three little Crimson pups. It seemed like these were the beast's children. Suddenly there was a russell a few feet away.
Hóngsè whirled around and she saw another Crimson Wolf. This monster was slightly smaller than the one that she fought before. For some reason, the wolf did not seem like it was going to attack her for some reason though. Suddenly, the beast opened its mouth and spoke. "I see that you have eaten my lover and these pups father. I suppose you are here to take responsibility. Correct?
