Yan Long looked at the sheepskin on his hands, it's the map that Oar handed to him, it's a somewhat rather old map, he looked at the place where Oar pointed, the location where he departed: "Based on this map, I was actually at the border of Islis Empire, converting all of the time I walked, I could've reached a city in Islis Empire five days earlier than when I met with Oar in the village."
"Well, it's not really a 100% thing, I may not have been able to find some fruits and die in the process as well."
Yan Long pondered for a bit more before looking at the map again: "Wait, if that's true, shouldn't the village that old man Oar lived at be in the borders? Not in the Empire?"
Oar told him, that he'll go to the Islis empire, he's bound to die, it's unknown whether he'll be able to arrive till that time, and also, in a massive desert, if you trip for a single time, you may not know which direction is which.
It's easy to get lost in the desert when you're inexperienced, hence, the much safer option is to head further into the Jade Dragon Empire, it's also better for him to start a new life.
Any kingdom will do, just never to go into the royal capital of the Empire.
The continent is divided into four reigning empires, the Jade Dragon Empire of the west, famous for its great cavalry troops, the Dragon Lancers, and the eight great generals.
The Jade Dragon Empire is the most tyrannical between the rest, but that doesn't mean the other three are any better.
The Islis Empire though, it's just pure savagery, barbaric even. The skin of the natives are bronze, and if you're not of the same color as them, you will be treated the same as one that treats the animals.
Although not all of them are that brutal, but almost every noble acts like that. They are termed as the savages of the continent, the scimitar riding camel warriors, known as the Kurdash Marauders are the monsters of the empire.
Not only that, the Islis Empire is famed for having the largest territory amongst the four Empires, due to the terrains of it, nobody dared to ever cross its borders. The Islis Empire isn't even done there, they had been continuously fighting to take the lands of the three other empires, trying to increase their borders even by the tiniest bit.
"The savages..." Yan Long uttered, he then looked at his skin: "Well, I guess I made the lucky bet."
As he spoke to this, he then thought about the remaining two empires.
One is the Ugrevianiz Empire of the north, which is filled with forestry, famed for their longbow archer units, the Fontiffy Reapers, able to climb and jump around the forest trees and fight like total assassins.
They are more frightening at night, hence, whenever the battle is within the mountains, even the Islis Empire tried its best not to go in, trying to take any battle or war in the flatlands as much as possible.
Finally, the east, the Pharlipian Empire, famous for its battleships, pirate-like troops known as the Pride Hunters, and its archipelago. The only Empire that has thousands of islands, both big and small.
This is the smallest empire in terms of land, but it's two times bigger than Islis Empire if you include the body of water within its territory.
But what intrigued Yan Long the most is also rather nerve-wracking information. Oar said, that, other than animals, there are beasts all over the world, and, a lot of them are stronger than humans physically, they call them demonic beasts.
When he was about to leave the village, he saw Oar taking part of it and cooking it for him, saying it's beneficial to eat meat once in a while. A demonic beast's meat is actually helpful for the body.
He grew excited, he then asked Oar: 'Does it fire something? Like magic flames?'
Well, his response immediately turned Yan Long's expectation down "Magek? What is that?"
So these demonic beasts are just animals as well, just stronger than normal and somewhat provides better nutrition for the body.
But still, it's quite a nice thing, considering he had lived in a world run by money, at the very least, he could live well if he became strong.
He looked at the map again, the Jade Dragon Empire's part is almost complete, although only the Kingdoms within the empire can be seen and not the cities and villages, it's more detailed than the other three empires.
The Islis Empire and Ugrevianiz Empire has around a few hundreds of kilometers inside of their borders detailed out, but not more than that. Also, the path for the Jade Dragon Empire to the Pharlipian Empire is blocked by both Islis and Ugrevianiz Empire, hence, no information can be seen.
Other than the information they smuggled in, nothing else was written.
Yan Long nodded his head: "I guess it's a map from the Jade Dragon Empire."
As Yan Long continued his walk, two more weeks had passed, his ration had grown rather thin, but the land he's walking on started to look healthier than before, there are even signs of greeneries everywhere, although scarce, it's actually a great thing!
Yan Long smiled, he already hopes to get out of the desolate wasteland, and this is the first time he's seeing greeneries! He hastens his steps with excitement: "After arriving at a forest, circle around to the left and I'll reach the Southern Shore Fortress, which Oar had told me to move away from no matter what."
"It's dangerous to go in the forest as demonic beasts are plenty in there and I'll be treated as an invader or food."
Yan Long nodded his head: "That's a no, no."
"Go around to the right, I'll be able to make my way to a lake, although there are animals and demonic beasts around it, it's actually safer..."
After thinking about it for a while, he shook his head wryly: "I don't know, the Southern Shore Fortress sounds fairly safe to me."
With a simple joke, he looked at the tool that Oar handed to him, although a little rusty, it's a short sword weighing around 15 to 20 kilos.
[Rusty Full Moon Blade
Level: 1
Grade: Common
Description: Used by a fairly famous person from a certain era till that person died, his fame was short-lived and had been forgotten through the passage of time.]
Yan Long sighed: "Now, that's sad..."
He looked up ahead: "Well, At the very least, I've made it to the forest..." He uttered as he looked at a giant mountain in front of him.
