Final Test

As my 15th birthday came closer I concentrated on learning stuff about the outside world. My skills where worth B-Class but most of my stats where still C-Class so my overall abilities where somewhere between these classes.

I chose to raise my stats while learning. Thankfully I had a helper.

Neria would sit on my back with an magic stone which increased it´s weight the longer you carried it while I did push-ups she read out of a book or had her on my shoulders as I run laps on the training ground or I became her target practise to raise my magic resistance and so one month before I would challenge my final test my stats where like this

My skills where also with some exeption over level 4 my best skill was level 6. After I reached these Status I went into the deeps of the forest alone to hunt monsters to get materials so that our smith could make me some equipment and since I now can challenge a rank 7 alone all the other monsters here where small fries and only in the deepest part it became entertaining as I was swarmed by monsters.

But they quickly fell before me and then I encountered the monster I searched for the boss of this devil´s nest a rank 7 dragon as it had wings it couldn´t be an earth dragon but I didn´t really care after all a dragon is a dragon and this one hasn´t noticed me yet.

I used my wind magic to quickly cut off his wings. He now noticed me and spitted fire on me.

„So you´re a fire dragon right?"

I said to him not expecting an answer and countered with a water spell [Aqua Spear] and created a massive water stream that clashed with the dragons breath.

As both canceled each other out steam covered our surroundings which was at my disadvantage as the dragons nose was said to be quite good but I prepared something beforehand to counter such enemies stink bombs.

As i threw them around I accidentally hit the dragons nose as it seems as he roared quite loud. Loud enough that I was certain that the people in the village heard it

„[Rising Tornado] now shut the fuck up"

I used wind magic to clear the area of steam and charged at the dragon which still tried to scratch of the stink bombs scent from his nose leaving himself quite open.

The dragon's scales are quite hard so I decided to test a technique I wanted to use in my final test a enchantment using all attributes in one strike [Heavens Strike] as I used my enchantment and sword skill the dragon turned to me but I was already behind his head cutting through the rather soft throat and beheading him.

„Nice now time to loot that thing" I said while looting the dragon

„Thanks the goddess for the super human strength skill other wise caring this beast home would be totally impossible" I prayed to Vida as I put the important parts of my prey in a back three times my size and walked back home.

As I came into the village an angry Neria welcomed me

„You idiot how can you go challanging the boss of the forest all by yourself!" she shouted and her ears stood straight out of anger

„Well you see I prepared some tricks to out whit it and in the end I won so everything ok" I said to which she put on a scary smile and I knew now I went over the line

„One day your smart tricks won´t help you if you had asked me I would have come with you after all I also can challenge Rank 6 monsters and I could have assisted you" she began to begin her lecture as I walked o the blacksmith she followed me and lecured me on the way.

Luckily we soon reached our destination and she stoped as we where greeted by a man looking like he was in his 50ties

„Nice to meet you Val I already heard what you challenged and considering the fact that you are here with a bag on your back means you won and brought me the matirials I asked you for" Sulian said and Neria looked dumbfound

„What does this mean Sulian you asked him?" she asked sulian and he answered her

„Well the kid asked me if I could make him some equipment and I asked him to hunt some materials for me so I can make it. That he would go after the dragon was to be expected but that he would acually kill it was a little surprising" Sulian said and added then „Now if you would be so kind to leave Neria"

Neria didn´t understood this remark and went after it

„Why do I need to leave" she asked and I sighted as Sulian said

„Oho so you two are already on that stage in that case you can help me measuring him" he laughed and Neria now began to realize what he meant

„No no no we aren´t like that isn´t it so Val come on say something" she looked at me to save her from this situation and I simply smiled at her and said

„Your right we aren´t like that you only give me lectures or help me with my training" at my remark she was quite shocked as she didn´t saw through me I mean hell man one step more and we will end up together I long gave up on preventing such a cliche. She gave me right and left through both Sulian and I could hear a scream

„VAL YOU BIG IDIOT!!!!" and Sulian began to laugh out loud

„Haha kid you now stepped in the trap good luck escaping it" I could only laugh as I now had to pacify her some how any ways Sulian took my measuring faster than anyone could look

„Hey old man you just wanted to get me into trouble right?" I asked him and he didn´t answer me but I could see him smileling giving me my answer.

After that I tried my best to make peace with Neria but in the end it was just a capitulation as I needed to promise her to let her go with me on my adventure and so we spend our last month in the village with preparations for our leaving as finally the last test came.

The last test was an all out battle against my mother the Rank 8 Vampire Alleana who was feared as the [Deathbringer] and this name was well earned as I stood in front of here I could feel the heavy pressure she emmited.

It was as if a giant looked down upon a human but I wasn´t fritend. If I would flee I could give up on my dream to be a hero and I wouldn´t be able to change the future.

„I now see how much you hold back mother" I said to her and she anwsered with a smile

„How could I go all out against you during training. But as you should already know this fight isn´t training"

The last part she became serious for the first time and drew her sword. I also drew it and I wore the equipment Sulian made for me. A armor out of dragon leather, metal arm harness, gauntlents, a breast plate, spaulders as well as Leg harness my mantel was made out of one of the wings and my sword was made out of multiple metals to gurantee it´s durability, sharpness and to support my enchantments

With the exeption of the sword most of my equipment was black or atleast dark coloured overall you could describe me as a black swordsman.

„So then should we get started mother?" I asked her and charged forward.

As I charged at her my mother did the same and our swords clashed at an incredible speed

„You have gotten better" she remarked

„If you have time for small talk I´m nowhere good enough" I answered and tried to kick her while I held her sword occupied but one could see from where have learned as she easily countered me and sent me flying.

I used multiple magics during my feel Wind magic to stabilize me, Light magic to blind her, Earth magic to bind her on the spot and Fire and Water magic to attack her or so she thought. As I used space magic to bring me near her so I could attack her but her instincts weren´t bad but a little bit rusty as she noticed a moment to late what was truly going on.

[Triple Slash] I used a skill at close distants and send her flying directly into my attack spells.

„Urgh, not bad Val. Apparently, my instincts aren´t as good as in my prime huh" she remarked as her wounds healed but I wouldn´t let that happen.

I closed our distance again and attacked as fast as I could to prevent her regeneration. I was actually quite successful with my plan but I couldn´t keep up with the speed of the regeneration at all and the my mother paid me back with a barrage of attacks that I couldn´t keep up with.

As I was in a pinch I used my time magic to accelerate myself but it took quite a strain on my mana so I choose a distance fight for a while.

As I used minimal mana for maximal output I kept my mother at bay for a time but soon she got used to my pattern and broke through but my stamina and mana where already restored and we could fight on again our swords clashed I used my enchantments as good as possible but the difference in experience became obvious.

I got owned like always but I didn´t want to lose again

„I WILL WIN THIS!!" I shouted and used the attack that I used against the dragon with the difference that now I put every ounce of my power into it

[Heavenly Destroyer] I shouted and I cut through mother's sword and cut her into two as she never saw me using this attack I got her by surprise.

„I did it..." were my last words before everything went black.
