A few days later, The underground
At a shopping center located in District-G were people were having a normal day. As shoppers came in by the dozen to perchance local goods sold by the large verity of shops and peddlers nearby.
Horrendous acts were being taken place directly below the feet of those shoppers. Deep below their feet was a large base with multiple tunnels leading to different places. The stone that the base was built from dripped water occasionally, but not a single bit of sound from inside or out of the base ever managed to escape.
Test tubes and workbenches for alchemy filled the main room where a none stop manufacturing process was underway. Their alchemists used sacks full of hard red crystal-like grains that filled almost every other room. To create a pure dark powder that twinkled gently in the light.
Though dreadful on its own it wasn't the creation of the black powder that brought a sickening feeling to one's stomach that day. Further down the base through a corridor were light failed to completely reach was a singular door. Where a burst of persistent laughter almost completely drowned out the sound of munching.
Inside the room where three figures one of which Desmond would recognize even if he had to pick him out from a crowd at a stadium. His name was Edgar Estrada, the same man who Desmond titled The Mirror Man. He was just as dashing as the first time Desmond saw him. His soft complexion and long dark hair without a single knot in it would make any man briefly think he was a woman, but Desmond knew for sure he was nothing, but a demon.
Standing next to Edgar was a cloaked man with a hood over his head. Light from light bulbs inside the room shined down on that man revealing the disturbing form he was trying to hide. His face had no eyes, ears, or nose just dark lines that were spread on every part of his body which he used to move his many mouths.
The third person in the room was strapped to a chair made of needles that pierced both flesh and bone. He sat in the chair as his truest self completely void of clothes and skin. The skin that was ripped off his body hung on a hook nearby.
The pool of blood beneath him had long since dried. Barely any more blood squirted out from the endless torture he had endured. As for any blood that did come out it was licked up by the swarm of ravenous beetles molded from his own flesh. That miserable wretch of a man while unrecognizable as he was now was known to Desmond just as much as The Mirror Man his name was Eliot Row.
Eliot despite his grim situation of being bound to a chair of needles, skinned, having his flesh turned into thousands of tiny beetles, and wraiths rampage through his mind. Eliot never once gave into his captures, pleaded for mercy or filled the room with endless screams. Instead, he did the opposite of what everyone expected and laughed endlessly as if everything was just a game to him.
The more pain that was inflicted upon him the more he played around. It was an unsettling cycle that his torturers have had enough of.
"This is getting us nowhere we've been at this for days and he isn't saying anything. His will is strong so, charming him has no effect. There are other ways but those may cause to much damage truly leaving us with nothing. We already know what he is what we need to know is who is he. Most of all why he took over Eliot's body? What do you think should we do next?".
The cloaked figure spoke in a verity of different tongues. He switched between speaking as a man, woman, child, beast, and demon. It was unknown if he was human or some otherworldly creature in human form.
"Have patience Creeg he will break in time". Edgar said in a monotonous tone to Creeg as he slowly pulled out a small mirror from his pocket.
Creeg's many mouths all scoffed at Edgar's reply then said, "patience that coming from a man with an attention span so, short he can't even last five minutes when doing something before wandering off somewhere else. Its things like that why you always leave your missions half complete. You're proving my point right now, you were going to use that mirror to go somewhere else, weren't you.
Edgar became wide-eyed after what Creeg said, in a hurry, he flipped the lid on his mirror close. "Since when was it a crime to look at one's self in the Mirror. Baseless accusations like that is why I stay away from you, stale conversations like this bore me".
While Edgar was speaking with Creeg Eliot burst out in an even greater fit of laughter then he was before. "You speak about being bored you're not the one who has to go through the same thing every single day. While having two whining children bickering in his ear ...".
Eliot's speech was cut short by a large bolt of electricity shot out by small staff in Creeg's hand, but Eliot simply laughed it off.
"Yep, without question, your definitely just ignorant brats so, come sit on my lap and let me teach you a very important life lesson. Its called YOU CAN'T BREAK SOMETHING THAT'S ALL READY BROKEN!. Eliot shouted before chuckling again as he straightened his back to look his torturers in their eyes as he said.
"Crush my bones, rip apart my body, make me into a flesh puppet, destroy my soul. Do it is whatever you mages like to do. I do not care and I never will you know why? Its because not only is this not my body this isn't even my world. I achieved my life long goal years ago I showed everyone that they are no different from me. I brought my entire galaxy to its knees then I set it all on fire. It was there where everyone finally found their truth that I took my own life".
