[ When darkness covers the whole world, all the world need is a small unyielding light.]
Felis woke up dreaming about his mother. She had raised and carved him into who he was over the painful years, but she was no longer by his side.
Enet Basileus had wanted to be free, to be popular, to be an unyielding light in the darkness, but, she was backstabbed! They tried to brainwash her! They destroyed her dreams!
Yet, she did not give up! Her tenacity made her determined to achieve her goals through her Son. She raised her son with a motive, but she had died before she witnessed him achieving her dream.
Felis sighed reminiscing. He missed her so much. He really missed her.
Sigh!
He pushed his depression to the back of his mind and tried to get up. But a foreign yet familiar weakness seemingly held him down. Frowning, Felis looked up to see his little sister happily snoring on top of his chest.
Somethings never change!
His expression immediately relaxed and he gently pushed her away from top of his chest. He got up from his rough bed, but soon collapsed to the ground while gritting his teeth and catching his thigh.
His left thigh had been stabbed and this injury was extremely serious. Consor had treated it to some basic extent using her poor medic skills, but the main bone inside his left thigh was already broken and it was tough for Felis to even take another step.
Felis bit his lower lip and tried his hardest to suppress any painful sounds that might have escaped from his mouth. He did not want to wake his little sister and make her feel even more guilty.
He slowly got up, taking support from the bedroom's sidewall. Then he limped his way outside the house to buy breakfast for the little girl. No matter what the situation was, he would not neglect his duty to take care of his little sister.
Felis limped all the way to Uncle Max's bakery. Due to his weird way of limping, Felis obtained 100 points from the guys walking down the street which shocked him.
Such was a human's mind. As long as it was out of ordinary, they would be interested.
Understanding this fact, Felis shook his head lightly and stopped caring about it.
Even though they had seen Felis limping his way, no one came to help the handsome guy. In fact, some of the young girls who would usually throw flirtatious glances at him from time to time, now looked at him with disgust. Of course, they were only disgusted at his limping.
Only Uncle Max, this middle aged stern faced man looked at Felis's left leg with genuine concern.
"What did you do to yourself pretty boy?! Did those young girls r*pe you yesterday?!" Even though Uncle Max was concerned, his mouth was still vicious. He just could not open his mouth without cursing someone.
"Hehe! As you see, I am hurt right now Uncle Max. Could you please give me a discount!!" Felis chuckled in a innocent manner and tried to take advantage of the situation.
"Tch! This kid!..." Uncle Max shook his head profoundly, as if he was an apex existence. He took a brown colored bag out and placed four loafs of bed into it before giving it to Felis.
*Ding*
[ Congratulations to Host for successfully managing to ShowOff his weakness.]
[ Lottery Ticket+1]
[ Skill Ticket+1]
[ Popularity+1]
Felis stared dumbly at the stream of notifications that appeared in front of him. ShowOff? What was that? Lottery Ticket? Specific Ticket? What the hell is going on?
"Hey!....Hey!..... Hey!" Uncle Max shook Felis hardly. He had just wanted to advise the kid to see a doctor! Why was this guy staring at the air? Did he finally lose it? Don't say that my guess was correct! Did he really get r*ped by those girls! Those b!tches! Uncle Max felt anger rising inside him for completely no reason.
Felis was awoken from his daze by uncle Max's deep shove. He immediately thanked the angry looking Uncle Max before turning around and limping back to his house. This time, Felis was in a rush, so he glared coldly at the thieves long before they reached his premises which effectively saved him quite some time and trouble.
Even though Felis was itching to know what the new terms that appeared in his notification log were, he pushed his interest back to a latter time. Right now, he had to feed his little sister. She came before anything.
Maybe she knew Felis's hardships, Consor did not make it hard for Felis. She woke up before he had come back and had already brushed her teeth, sitting quietly at the dining table.
Even though Consor could take care of him and heat up the milk, Felis did not demand her for anything and took care of it on his own. As a big brother, he should take care of his little sister at all circumstances. He must make her too lazy to even think of leaving him in future.
To Consor's surprise, today, she had four loafs of bread all to herself, and the brown bag his brother had given her also contained a piece of tasty looking white colored cake that was beautifully packed inside.
Consor wanted an explanation, but seeing Felis who was looking into air as if he was in a daze, she bit her lower lip and ate everything without her usual complaining of getting fat.
"Hump! He really seems determined to get me fat!" She muttered under her breath quietly as she finished the delicious cake.
Felis had finally found out what the weird notifications were. At this moment, a weird transparent interface had already appeared in front of him. On top of this transparent interface were the words 'LOTTERY' and the interface had a column which said Ticket No: 1 on it.
All Felis had to do was, will himself to use this ticket and the lottery Interface would give him a prize of 0 points to 1 000 000 points randomly. Basically, the lottery ticket could be used to get popularity points using luck.
As for the Skill Ticket, it was even more amazing as it gave Felis important skills which could only be brought through the Popularity Index. The Skill Ticket was also a lottery type ticket which could be used by the 'LOTTERY' Interface.
Seeing the Lottery Interface which had not appeared before him until today, Felis muttered to himself. "Is this a System?" He had finally started to comprehend a little about the words that had appeared before in the Dark World.
