14 June, The Venue, City K
David Hwang held out his hand and helped Joan off the bus that had collected them with other guests from outside the City Hall. While he knew from his cousin Robert whose daughter Bronwyn Li was, he was surprised to see the amount of not only military but civilian security around. Stilling himself not to react, he squeezed Joan's hand and she moved in closer to him.
After they moved through the security screening, then walked off to the side away from any building and any obvious surveillance before Joan said, "This seems over the top?"
"I know. I expected the military presence, because Bronwyn Li is the daughter of the head of special forces General Li, but all this seems over the top even for the presence of a couple of generals."
"That cousin of yours was tight lipped last night. If he knew anything he would have said something, wouldn't he?"
