Outed and condemned? (4)

Joan, sat quietly in an interview room, having finished a discussion with lawyers that had been engaged to represent them.  How had things gone so wrong, so quickly?  Everything was fine and ready to go in just two days for David to achieve his goal, but now they were in a prison, plans unravelling quickly.

While the message the lawyers passed on from David was reassuring the question was, what did she do?  She had David so convinced that he had weeks ago transferred all the shares in the company into joint names.  If she could get out of this, she would be able to keep the company, arguing that his actions had nothing to do with her?  Could she argue that he had manipulated her into doing actions if they had any evidence?
