Who wouldn’t like an idol like her?

"Mei Lien, there' are a lot of fans outside. It's creating some traffic. Let's leave through a side passageway." Tang XunMin, her manager spoke.

Mei Lien shook her head. "those fans must have been waiting since early morning. They didn't even know what time I was coming to the company. Since they're here and I am here, why not go see them?" XunMin forms an expression that read 'I knew you would say that' and helplessly sighed. "All right, I don't know what to do with you. No wonder all those fans love you so firmly."

Mei Lien wore large black sunglasses from her department covering her small bruise on her eye.

As soon as she walked out, the fans began screaming.

"Mei Lien, Mei Lien, Mei Lien,"

"Mei, Mei, Mei!"

Mei Lien felt their excitement and let out a dazzling smile in response and bowed 90 degrees in gratitude. "Thank you for receiving me. Thank you for your love, but you must remember to be safe. Don't push or squeeze. I didn't know you guys would come today so there won't be time for autographs because I am recording. But I'll sign and have my assistant send out the autographs for you guys." Her eyes glittered while looking at the crowd, making them feel as if spring flowers were blooming around them, intoxicating them. This was Zhang Mei Lien, the woman that became 'The Queen of The Music Industry'

Nobody could compare to her, she is loved as long as fans sent her presents, she'll send back a gift no matter how busy she was. Although she told her fans to not send her gifts since it was expensive, her fans still couldn't hold themselves back. Therefore, she would often use her actions to show her gratitude. Who wouldn't like an idol like her?

As soon as Mei Lien enter the company, the news spread about their Idol recording new music. In half an hour, #MeiFansAreSoLucky #WelcomeBackQueen. Every fan wanted such a sincere and genuine idol to look up to. She had beauty, good character, and talent, making it impossible for haters to find a flaw to attack.

"Explain" XunMin spoke neutral, her eyes were fierce.

Damn, she noticed.

"What are you talking about?" Mei Lien tried to play dumb.

"Isn't working! Mei Lien, who did the bruise? Luckily your fans didn't notice." Her manager sounds angry.

XunMin was everything but no calm, Mei Lien wasn't only her artist, she was her friend. She still remembers how Mei Lien and her, started in the music industry, she was a still inexperienced manager and Mei Lien was a newbie.

They were together in the bad and good.

"Isn't, the boyfriend of yours Mei Lien!!!! Are you crazy and don't defend him!!" XunMin explode her anger.

"Xun, I... I just" Mei Lien tried to explain but nothing came out. She knew that wasn't a reason to lie, XunMin is good to notices when she lies.

"So, it was him, I don't care if he is an actor, he would hear me" XunMin took her phone out, Mei Lien quickly beg not to.

" Why? why Mei Lien, you have your fans, you don't need money, why are you still with him!!" XunMin never liked Mo Zean, he was too arrogant when she met him but Mei Lien always looks at him with her loving eyes, that she said nothing.

Bastard, now are you showing your true colors!!! Xun Min was so frustrated about it, she didn't know why Mei Lien stills with him.

"What are you waiting for, he hurt you by his word's first, now he hit you!!! What are you waiting for, to kill you?!? Mei Lien, don't be so dumb," XunMin opens the studio.

Mei Lien could not look directly to XunMin, she knows that she is right but, she could even think about breaking with Zean, she loves him too much, her heart would ache.

"It was just a misunderstanding; he says sorry to me," Mei Lien replied.

Xun Min was almost smacking her friend.

"Just don't come crying after" XunMin was just over, they always fight about Zean and never end up any good, she just would leave it for now.

Mei Lien spends all her afternoon recording her new album.

Golden Apartments

It's an hour later that Mei Lien was at her apartment; she watches the screen as seventeen messages appear.

"Hello," Mei Lien said.

"Mei Lien, open the door, please" Zean cold voice, rings from the cellphone.

It upset Mei Lien at him. She stills opening the door. He slowly walks to the sofa and takes a seat. He leans forward, clasping his hands in front of him.

"Please sit down, Lien."

"When you ran after me last night, I swear I had no intention of hurting you. I am upset and angry. And sometimes when I feel that much emotion, something inside of me just snaps. I don't remember the moment I pushed you. But I know I did. I did. All I was thinking when you were running after me was how I needed to get away from you. I wanted you out of my way. I didn't process that there were stairs around us. I didn't process my strength compared to yours. I fucked up, Mei Lien. I fucked up."

He lowers his mouth to her ear. His voice cracks when he says, "You are my girl. I'm supposed to be the one who protects you from the monsters. I'm not supposed to be one." He holds her with so much desperation, he shakes. She has never, in all her life, felt so much pain radiating from one human.

It breaks her. It rips her apart from the inside out. All her heart wants to do is wrap tightly around his. She pulls away from him, unable to look him in the eye. She walks towards her bathroom door behind her and grip the sink, she ends up sliding to the floor in a heap of tears.

This isn't how this is supposed to be. Her whole life, she knew exactly what she would do if a man ever treated her the way her father treated her mother. It was simple. She would leave and it would never happen again.

But She didn't leave. And now, here She is with bruises and cuts on her body at the hands of the man who is supposed to love her. It was an accident. He thought she was cheating on him. He is hurt and angry and she got in his way.

She's supposed to hate him. She's supposed to be the woman her mother was never strong enough to be.

But if She's emulating her mother's behavior, then that would mean Zean is emulating her father's behavior. But he isn't. She has to stop comparing them. Her father never had an excuse for his anger, nor was he immediately apologetic. The way he treated her mother was much worse than what's happened between Zean and her.

She wipes her eyes and pulls herself up. When she looks in the mirror, she doesn't see her mother. She just sees her. She sees a girl who loves her boyfriend and wants more than anything to help him. She knows Zean and her are strong enough to move past this. Their love is strong enough to get them through this.

Is just what she is trying to believe.
