Back at the hotel, Ye Xiong was just getting ready to work when his phone rang. He hesitated when he saw the familiar number on the screen. It was from Yang Xinyi.
"President Yang, are you calling so early because you already regret divorcing me? Thinking about getting remarried?" Ye Xiong answered, joking flippantly.
There was a long silence on the other end before Yang Xinyi's voice, neither warm nor cold, finally came through. "You drank a lot last night. I was just calling to check on you out of a friend's concern. Don't read too much into it."
"A friend?" Hearing the word, a bitter smile touched the corner of Ye Xiong's lips.
"Don't drink so much in the future. Don't think that just because no one is keeping you in check, you can act recklessly," Yang Xinyi advised.
"I was just feeling down after the divorce yesterday," Ye Xiong admitted. "I needed to vent a little. I'm fine now."
"Do you regret it?" Yang Xinyi asked softly.
