After the call, Ye Xiong chased after them.
Murong Changqing and Tang Ning were sitting on a stone bench by the Lotus Pond, each with a cup of fresh milk, chatting as they drank.
"What about mine?" Ye Xiong asked, walking over with a displeased look.
"If you want some, go buy it yourself," Tang Ning said.
"It seems you've forgotten who gave you a ride to school. Do you believe I'll make you walk home tonight?" Ye Xiong said, his mood souring. He continued his threat, "If you cause trouble again, don't expect me to clean up your mess."
Tang Ning's eyes darted about as if weighing the pros and cons. In an instant, her arrogant demeanor melted into a pitiful one. "Brother-in-law, I was just joking! Don't take it seriously. Here, you can have mine!"
She handed over the half-empty bottle of milk.
She had assumed Ye Xiong wouldn't dare drink it, but he didn't even hesitate. He took the bottle and drained it in one gulp.
