Rushing to the third floor, the entire department was in chaos.
Inside one of the wards, a patient with high blood pressure was lying on the bed, his limbs twitching incessantly—a terrifying sight. The night shift was mostly staffed with inexperienced nurses, who stood to one side, so frightened they were at a loss for what to do. The on-call doctor was also not very experienced.
"These symptoms are most likely a stroke induced by a brain hemorrhage. Get him to the emergency room, fast," the on-call doctor said.
"There's no guarantee a doctor will be in the emergency room. Who in this hospital is the best at treating strokes?" Ye Xiong came over and asked.
"The Deputy Director."
"The Deputy Director," the two nurses said in unison.
"Call her right away," Ye Xiong urged.
The two nurses hesitated, not moving a muscle.
"What are you standing around for? A life is at stake!" Ye Xiong pressed.
