Chen Xu heard Luo Xiyun's question, his hand paused, and he said, "After that dream woke me up, the thought of you no longer being mine tormented me. So, I thought about resigning. Just then I got a recipe and started focusing on cooking."


Luo Xiyun gently smoothed the hair beside her ear, pursed her lips, and said, "Were you serious about what you said last night?"


The water in the pot bubbled vigorously, sending up plumes of steam. Chen Xu grabbed the noodles, dropped them into the pot, covered it, then turned to look at her and said, "Of course I was."


He asked, "Would you be my girlfriend?"


Luo Xiyun looked down at her toes and said softly, "There's no sincerity in that."


Just then, Yanqing walked in, saw Luo Xiyun standing at the kitchen door, paused surprised, and stood at the doorway, unsure of her relationship with Chen Xu. He said, "I'd like two servings of noodles to go."
