Stain Time, First Period

It wasn't often Stain could say he was contacted by an assassin, let alone hired for help taking a villain down.

Chizome could count the amount of times that's ever happened to him: exactly zero times, but he supposed there's a first for everything.

At first, he wasn't even sure he wanted to take it up. He was his own assassin; not up for hire by anyone. Marked as villain by all. But upon hearing the target was a potential threat to children and was even a threat to All Might himself, well.

That changed things.

A little curiosity could go miles, as well…

But of course, he wasn't about to go in head-first. No, he had to study his target; see what made him tick. How fast he was, what sort of techniques he carried, what kind of quirk he had. Chizome was only somewhat filled in on the situation, on this so-called 'Korosensei.'

Honestly, this entire thing made him sick to think about. Even all the kids were charged with the responsibility to kill this vile creature? Who allowed this villain so close to children? And no one outside of this class is none the wiser for it? Deplorable.

Days, he spent days studying this creature. Studying how he interacted with the class. Those students were intelligent, they were easy to train, and they were… rather loyal, it seemed. Diligent, determined. It was admirable how they conducted themselves. And All Might was there too. Just seeing the hero was almost enough to get Chizome's blood running, move his legs, charge…. But he kept still on his perch. Watching.

Soon, he came to realize that the "threat" the octopus held was… nonexistent. A lie, he daresay. This teacher held himself with such a genuine attitude, genuine passion toward teaching his students, bettering them, preparing them for the future… There was no way on earth he was setting them up to fail. Not if he was truly a sadistic monster---which is what he had been described as, and yet… if he was, why trap himself under the roof of this classroom in the forest? Why settle for being a teacher, of having that deadline of March?

So many holes in the story, Chizome began to doubt it entirely.

Curiously, days turned into two weeks of constantly watching this class. Their shenanigans, the way they interacted, the way Korosensei interacted and encouraged the children. How even All Might had seemed to strike a comradery with this creature, and well---well. Well.

He left his perch at the final ring of the bell as students began to pack their bags and leave for home. Something rustled around him, the sound of something approaching, and Chizome paused. Then, something touched his shoulder and he jumped, katana unsheathed and raised at the newcomer---then surprise marked his expression. Korosensei stood before him, his smile radiating peace and welcome, but the assassin's instincts roared in his ears not to give in to the sense of calm.

"Careful now!" Korosensei hummed, his tentacles that seemed to act as his hands, raised in a peaceful gesture. "No need to get riled up."

How… did this thing appear so quickly? He didn't even sense his approach until he was right on him! And didn't he see him bid the student goodbye just a second ago? How did he know he was even there? Chizome's mind raced with hysterical questions, and now the smile the other gave him began to give off an unsettling feeling.

Korosensei took his silence as permission to continue. "If you're here to kill me, I do request you try to do so when the children have all left. We still have one that is staying after hours to receive special tutoring by another teacher and myself."

Chizome's gaze was piercing, studying the creature as if he was the predator and Chizome the prey. It was… a jarring thing to experience. He had never been the prey before---not since he was younger and decided to grow some fangs to bite and defend himself. Even being before such a creature with such insane power that rivaled even All Might's, it was humbling. Somewhat.

And still, Korosensei was putting the safety, both emotional and physical, of one of his students first. He was making sure this student was being taught. First. How on earth was this creature planning to destroy the earth? Nothing fit right in this picture. Slowly, Chizome closed his eyes and began to sheath his weapon, standing straight. Korosensei watched him with a confused hum.

"Forget it," Chizome huffed with a shake of his head. "You're no villain. You're not even a threat to anyone, only the ones who dare harm your students. And what's more, All Might himself seems to tolerate your existence to the point of forming a friendship with you."

Korosensei seemed flustered by this, giving that obnoxious giggle he's heard too many times to tolerate.

Chizome continued on, beginning to turn around as he ignored the other. "I'm done here. A big waste of my time, if you ask me."

And then, he left.
