The Wizard became increasingly excited, almost desperate to climb the tower and rescue the Lettuce girl, but after sneaking around the tower, he found no entrance, which made him even more agitated.
Qin Muye quietly sized up the manor. The estate was large with many strange plants growing, which Qin Muye examined with his Crimson Pupil—most contained some form of special energy.
"This witch is no ordinary one."
"Respected Prince, we must rescue the beautiful lady from the high tower as soon as possible," the wizard said anxiously.
Qin Muye gave the other a curious glance, feeling something was off. Normally, isn't it the Prince who should say this line? How did it end up being said by you, the villainous Wizard?
"Perhaps only the witch knows how to enter the high tower," Qin Muye bluntly said.
His thoughts were simple: So you really thought you could freeload, huh? Deals were made to capture the Witch first, but unexpectedly you wanted the Lettuce girl first?
And looking at his situation, he probably has thrown even the Divine Lamp out of his mind.
Thinking about it, it was a little absurd; he really didn't expect two fairytale stories intersecting could lead to such nonsensical changes.
But thinking about it is somewhat exciting; this world seems to not only possess fairy tale stories but also incorporates Greek mythology in it.
This made the entire world seem very dangerous.
But so far, it seems that the Greek gods have not directly interfered with the world, unlike traditional Greek myths which are all over the place. Perhaps he hasn't encountered them yet.
"A witch? She only comes back at night, and isn't in the manor during the day," the wizard said.
Clearly, the Wizard had been planning this for a long time, but his purpose had also changed, from originally wanting the Divine Lamp to now desiring the Lettuce girl.
Qin Muye was puzzled though, how had he not been enchanted by the singing of Lettuce girl before?
"Wait a second, don't tell me you've triggered the 'White Horse Prince' skill."
He was the protagonist, typically meant to encounter many relevant events. It was just that lacking the Main Character Aura meant events wouldn't follow the script.
Like Lettuce Lady's singing voice, a normal prince wouldn't be accompanied by a wizard, nor would he think about locking a witch in the basement.
And it's also his magic shield being powerful; otherwise, he likely would have ended up just like this wizard upon hearing the song, enchanted into being a devoted follower.
The Wizard had been observing this place for so long without hearing Lettuce girl sing. It was merely bad luck, while Qin Muye had the Prince Charming Skill and triggered it upon arrival.
If not for the oddity in her singing voice, Qin Muye would have thought his Prince Charming Skill was functioning normally.
"Then let's set up an ambush, and when the time comes, we'll catch her off guard and torture the method of entering the high tower out of her," Qin Muye said.
Now, he had grasped the Wizard's mindset, but honestly, it was truly bizarre that the Wizard couldn't fly; probably due to being a dud product.
In Qin Muye's eyes, this world was not one of magic or witchcraft, but a world of gods; only those with Divine Bloodline mattered.
Like the old witch in the tinderbox, she did not have divine bloodline, signifying no backing, so Death God Thanatos harvested her, while the soldier in the original story was different, having a divine bloodline meant he had backing, and despite taking Death God's money and even a dog, he managed to reach the peak of life.
"So, why did Death God Thanatos spare me in the first place?"
He pondered this matter; he had no Divine Bloodline or powerful backing. Was the other party letting him go that easily a bit too frivolous?
But he quickly dismissed the matter. It was something to be discussed later.
Meanwhile, the eager wizard started setting out scorpions, snakes, and so on for the arrangement. With Qin Muye suggesting an ambush on the witch, the wizard naturally acted first.
It was Qin Muye's first encounter with the world of Witchcraft Magic. Well, a villain is a villain; nailed with that identity, even the magic they cast had a wicked bent.
And his power is truly weak; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to be simply slaughtered by a swipe of Aladdin's knife.
These Wizards and Witches seemed more like ordinary people who had mastered some special abilities and were thus cursed.
First was the appearance: absolutely ugly. Then came behavior: definitely evil.
This was to contrast the story's protagonist's handsomeness and righteousness.
"Is it like destiny?"
Suddenly, such a thought popped into Qin Muye's mind.
"Prince, we need to hide quickly, the witch is coming," the wizard hurriedly said, his temperament greatly altered in his quest to get the Lettuce Lady.
From a distance, he saw a figure riding a broom under the moonlight.
"This feels a bit discordant…"
In Ancient Greek mythology, there seems to be no mention of riding a broomstick. It looks like it's mixed with other settings.
The Witch stepped into the manor, and Qin Muye could discern the other's face in the moonlight. He really wanted to smack the Wizard across his face. Did they call this a "Winter Rose"?
She looks at least 60+, with a hooked nose and full of wrinkles, absolutely a female version of Gargamel.
In fairy tale stories, beautiful female antagonists are almost always stepmothers and queens. As for the other female antagonists, they can't escape the rule of being unattractive.
The witch came to the foot of the high tower and called out to the high tower, "Lettuce, Lettuce, let your hair down!"
"???" Qin Muye was utterly confused.
Something didn't seem quite right.
He glanced at the broom hovering in midair, utterly bewildered.
You can fly, can't you? Just ride your broom into the high tower from the sky; why go through all this trouble?
He saw long hair tumbling down from the tower, and the Witch clambered up, though with some difficulty, looking very odd.
Qin Muye found himself wondering about one thing: How could hair grow so long?
Even if this Lettuce Lady didn't cut her hair for 30 years, it couldn't possibly be this long.
The Wizard nearby was clearly excited, under the circumstances, probably having even decided what to name their future offspring.
"It's hopeless, looking at that expression, he's completely lost his mind." Qin Muye felt somewhat helpless; he even wanted to remind the other party that his role was the villain, not the main character.
Qin Muye was certain that if the Wizard truly wished to take the Lettuce girl away, it wouldn't be a case of love at first sight but rather one of repulsion.
In fairytales, most heroines were beauty-conscious.
After the witch climbed up the high tower, it's unclear what she's doing up there; however, the wizard began to panic, seemingly planning to rush up and rescue the Lettuce Lady, totally love-struck.
"Your Highness, we must act quickly. My beloved Lettuce Lady must be suffering terrible torment at the hands of that damned witch," the wizard said.
"You're middle-aged now, can't you be a little more cautious?" Qin Muye felt this guy was genuinely ill. You can't even get up there, so how can you save anyone?
"Thinking about my beloved Lettuce Lady in the hands of the witch makes my heart feel like it's being boiled in a pot of hot soup."
The Wizard's analogy was quite subtle, with a hint of a sycophant's demeanor.
After meeting, he'll likely turn into a true devoted follower.
As time ticked by, the Witch still hadn't come down, and the Wizard grew more anxious. He was still rational, or he might have ended up like the witch, yelling at Lettuce girl from below the tower to let down her hair.
As for the Witch inside? That was another matter entirely; everyone was so charmed they probably couldn't think too deeply about anything.
On the other hand, Qin Muye was indifferent; everyone was here, just wait for the witch to come down and catch them all at once.
In fact, Qin Muye didn't need to wait for the Witch to come down as he could go up himself; he knew Flying Magic, just not the original version. Instead, it was a version he modified to suit himself since he couldn't use the original due to his compatibility with the Red Prison Element.
The original was Qi System Magic, completely incompatible with him, just like the Magic Eye. If he were to truly use the Qi System method to fly with Flying Magic, he wouldn't lift off but could be buried in the ground.
After nearly an hour, a golden braid once again dangled from the high tower.
The Witch once again laboriously climbed down from above, and it seemed she was ready to leave.
"Get ready, we're about to make a move," Qin Muye whispered.
The wizard beside him could no longer contain his excited feelings. Once the witch was dealt with, his beloved Lettuce Lady would be able to escape the evil witch's clutches.
