"Can I really not change your mind?" she looked at me and her eyes were filled with worry.

I removed her hands from my shoulders and squeezed them tight. "I already made up my mind. And you know better than anyone else that there's no use in trying to change it. This is something that I must do."

"What if something bad happens?" She shook her head frantically and sniffled as she tried to hold back her tears. "What if you die? I can't let that happen."

"If I must die..." I smiled bitterly as I looked at our linked fingers. "I'll gladly die for him."

I turned my teary eyes to Teacher Kimmy who was storming her way towards me with a frown on her face.
