Behind The Scenes

"Did you mean what you said earlier?" I asked Craige over dinner.

We decided to have dinner by the fireplace despite Mrs. Gina's protest. She was my grandmother's trusted housekeeper for a long time and took care of my father ever since he was a child. Just like my grandmother, she's also hellbent on conforming to customs and etiquette.

But when I told her that the dining table reminded me of my parents' divorce, she stopped insisting and let us move our food by the fireplace. Although, she kept passing by to check on us with her eyes glued to Craige.

At first, it made me uncomfortable but eventually, I managed to ignore her curious stares and ate in peace.

Craige never took his eyes off me the entire time and it was something that I've been getting used to ever since we started dating. "About what?"
