A few days later, Shania was discharged out of NIA special laboratory. Her mother helped her settle everything up, while General Cray hasn't shown himself since the day she woke up. He just explained to them that being seen frequently at NIA invites unnecessary danger. To which, Shania remained indifferent.
Sitting on a wheelchair, Shania Cray was led by her mother to the basement parking. She refused to use it for she could already walk by herself, but her mother insisted on it. After all, she still had visible bruises all over but had turned yellowish over the past couple of days.
When they stepped inside the elevators to take them to the basement parking area, a hidden janitor in the hallway made a call.
"Boss, they're about to head out."
Voice on the other line: "Good, proceed as planned."
The janitor then used the staircase to follow the Cray women. When he arrived at the basement parking, he was just in time to see their car exiting.
He immediately got to his motorbike and revved it up then he followed their car until they neared the marked intersection.
The car stopped when the traffic light turned red and a black heavily tinted van stopped beside it. The van's door opened and his other companions immediately surrounded the car.
He shattered the window glass at the driver's side then pulled open the door and two others did the same. His face contorted in disbelief as he couldn't believe by what he saw.
"What is this?! Where the hell are they?!" He roared in frustration.
The car they followed had no one and nothing inside!
At the old commercial building...
"What do you mean no one was there?! Who drove the damned car?!"
Morris Claude almost lost his wits as he angrily shouted at his men.
"Boss, I think that car was remote-controlled and made to look like Mrs. Cray's vehicle. Even the license plate was the same." One man braved to answer.
"Boss! Boss! I found this plastered in one of the prison cells."
One of his guards came rushing towards him as he held out a small device.
At first glance, the device looked inconspicuous as it was only the size of a thumb. But Claude soon discovered that it was an audio-recording device.
With that, realization dawned on Claude that his face brightened up.
'That's right! Dragon and that bastard, Xander Baylis is one and the same.' He excitedly thought. He clenched his fist around the tiny device. He then threw it on the floor and crushed it with his shoe.
He then took out his phone and made a call.
"Agent Splash, I want you to disrupt Baylis. Be it his reputation or his business. I want him preoccupied, so much so he won't have enough time to interfere in my business."
After getting the agreement he wanted, he ended the call.
"Xander Baylis. Do you have so much free time to meddle in my business? I'll make it so that you wouldn't even be able to spare me a glance."

One hour ago.
Mrs. Cray kept on fidgeting inside the room while Shania Cray remained calm.
"Honey, I don't know if this 'arrangement' could work. Are you certain you can protect yourself?"
"Mom, we're only doing this for a period of time. This is just temporary" Shania patted her mother's hands, placating her concerns. They then strode out of the room.
The second time Xander appeared in her room, he laid down the plans he came up with. From there, she found out the people who were after her life. She also realized that in order to expose those people and their evil deeds, she had to use a fabricated identity and work with the man's team.
At the parking area, Shania Cray already noticed the unmarked car when they stepped off the elevators. As she and her mother got near their car, two men emerged from the unmarked vehicle and headed towards them.
The driver was taller than the other guy, and was wearing a baseball cap that hid his face. He was well-built and the black round-necked shirt showed off his firm muscles.
The shorter guy was younger than him, and looked like a computer geek in a pair of eyeglasses.
Shania warned her mother. "Mom, don't freak out, they're already here to pick me up."
"W-what do you mean?" Mrs. Cray nervously looked around.
Before Shania was able to explain further, the driver already reached them.
Firebird faced the old woman, "Mrs. Cray, Xa- I mean, Dragon instructed me to pick up your daughter. Blue Bear here," he pointed at the young man beside him, "will drive you home."
"Mom, I'll try to contact you from time to time. Stay safe, alright?" Shania bid her mother.
The mother-daughter pair hugged for a few moments.
"Your safety is more important. Come back alive, please." Mrs. Cray kissed her forehead then she forced herself to pull away.
"We have to leave now."
Firebird pulled Shania Cray and ran towards his car.
"Ma'am." Blue Bear nodded his greeting at Mrs. Cray.
He also hurried the old woman, supporting her as they ran towards another unmarked vehicle a few slots away from Firebird's.
Once inside, Green Day, who was also with them, used a remote control to maneuver Mrs. Cray's "car."
Prior to this mission, he switched Mrs. Cray's car to a similar make and model which he modified so it can be driverless and remote-controlled. This was his first trial run on one of his current projects for Baylis Electronics.
Just then, the fire exit door was burst open by the "janitor" who followed their dummy car.
Mrs. Cray saw all these and fear crept into her as she realized the extent of the danger her husband had put in her daughter's life.
Half an hour later, Blue Bear safely dropped off Mrs. Cray at their residential tower.
Shania also witnessed the "janitor's" actions and started to fear for her life once again.
As she saw the other car exiting, she looked at the ever-silent Firebird and said, "We can also go now."
Few minutes later, they were on the road leading to who-knows-where.
Getting bored in the silent drive, Shania then started shooting questions.
Shania: "Hey Mr. Driver, what's your name?"
Silence.
Shania: "What am I supposed to call you?"
Silence.
Shania: "How long have you been working for Xander Baylis?"
Firebird just glanced at her through the rear view mirror.
Five minutes later...
Shania: "Urgh! This silence is creeping me out."
Firebird pushed a button then classical music started playing. Still, he didn't utter any word.
Shania thought, 'Yep, the ever typical music genre. Sigh. Just endure the tune, Shania.'
One hour later, Shania noticed that they were almost at the coastside.
Panic could be heard in her voice when she asked, "Where are you taking me?"
Firebird finally answered.
"Baylis Mansion."
