Dangers That Lies Ahead

After I untied the rope that was tied on Li Chen, the man disappeared into thin air. Based on what he said, I am the first Holmesian that faced them.

Strange, why would the others turn their backs at this situation. I just kept them in my thoughts and rushed down stairs. I now realize how the arsonist will burn this apartment. Short fuse is the problem and that will be our demise.

'Sh*t, I've wasted too much time. They will execute the plan earlier than we planned to surprise us." I held Li Chen's hand and dragged her to the power box of all rooms. It was Xi Meng short fusing the wires. I knew it.

"Hey, what are you doing!" He ran down the alley but cornered by a wall. That is a dead end for Xi Meng.

"W-who ar-e you?" He was scared and shaking like it was cold or something.

"I am Ximen Feng and she is my partner, Li Chen." I hand cuffed him and called Li Xui to pick the arsonist up.

"Nice job there you two! Li Chen and Ximen Feng, I didn't expect that you will help the police today. What if we feature you on the news but the problem is no one is one of the police between you two," I laughed that it made Li Xui threw a confused look at me.

"Do you know Officer Ye Fei?" He nodded.

"Well, I am one of the Investigation team and the right hand of Officer Ye Fei." He was shocked to know these things.

"Yeah brother it is true!" he smiled at us and left us both outside the apartment.

"The case is solved so that means..." she was smiling at me while her arms crossed.

"I am now your partner." Well, I need to keep that condition.

"Hey, can I talk to you for a moment later at my room." She nodded and went back inside the apartment.

Another case solved. I think within those three missions and few secret missions, I can be an outstanding detective.

I took out my phone to see the notification my phone sent.

[You solved three cases. The first and the two secret missions. You've gain 307 exp and 400 gold.]

Based on the game, I am already level 4 and have 600 gold. I went inside and back to my room.

"Li Chen, we need to talk." She was at the computer so I spoke to her.

"Okay!" she followed me to my room.

I took out my phone and revealed the game to Li Chen. She was not surprised but smiling.

"I know that you are a 'Twist of the Mind' player. Taking cases out of the blue is quite weird so I suspected that you have one. You are a Holmesian. Me too." She was already in this world where lies and deception is our enemy and justice is our only light...

"But when did you started?"

"Few years ago when I opened my phone and saw this game. I took cases, ever heard of the first famous girl detective. That's me..." I straightened my composture as I listened to her.

"Wait, how come you knew the D.E.G?" I shortened the name of the devil squad. I crossed my arms and looked at her eyes.

"I already saw their leader once. It was quite dangerous but at least it gives me details." Their leader? No wonder they were formed.

"Then, what will you do for now? I mean if you are my partner, how can you receive rewards from solving a case?" She was quiet for a moment then left the room.

'What just happened? Did I do something wrong?' With confusion, I lied down my bed.

'Sh*t, what the f*ck even happened though. Like hell. Li Chen was an undercover detective the past years. But I don't remember her doing detective jobs.' I sighed as the time runs. I fell asleep.

----------------

I woke up a bit of a late and got ready for school. I walked alone with thoughts on my mind.

'What the hell just happened last night. I just need to forget that thing as f*ck.' I reached the Lei Xu University and as always, it was crowded with people stupid enough to stay in the hallway.

I went inside and sat down my chair. I put on my earphones and listened to a song and rest, not sleep but just sat there.

I looked in front and as the teacher came, I hid my gadgets and listened to my teacher.

I listened even if my mind was blank. 'If only I can accept the truth though. Sh*t!'

Then, an armored guy with a machine gun pointing at every body.

"HEY! ALL OF YOU! GET DOWN!" We ducked down and held us as hostages. 'When will my life get normal?!" I rolled my eyes mentally and tried to sneak off the room. Using info eyes, it gave me the blind spots and escape routes.
