A Visitor

It has been a while since Lena was on her normal routine. Since James broke up with her, she was unable to commit herself to doing anything. But during this rough time, she picked up a new hobby, baking.

She was baking her favorite chocolate chip cookies when she heard a knock on the door. She quickly stuck the cookies in the oven and ran to answer the door.

She opened the door to see one of her friends, Ryan, standing patiently outside. "Come in. Have a seat," she said, leading the way to the kitchen. "I was just baking cookies."

Ryan smiled and said, "I never knew you liked baking. What a surprise."

Lena shrugged and replied, "I just got into it recently." Ryan sat down on a chair and looked at Lena as his smile grew slightly.

Lena sat down at the table. "So, why did you come to visit me on this ordinary morning?" "I was worried about you. You've barely left your house, except for when you're visiting James." He looked her directly in the eyes, and she flinched. "Has anything happened?"

Lena looked away from him, her eyes began to water, and her voice became soft. "James... broke up with me." As she said that, a tear trailed down her cheek.

"He did what!?" Ryan said, not believing the words she said. "How dare he! How dare he break up with you! How dare he hurt you!" Lena saw his anger and tried to calm him down. "It's alright... Really."

But Ryan would not hear her. He was too absorbed in his anger. "When I see him I am going to-" "Ryan!" Lena yelled, trying to distract Ryan from his anger.

"What?" "Don't hurt him!"

Ryan looked confused. "But he hurt you. How could I-" "Ryan!"

Ryan looked up at Lena, and saw her fierce eyes staring at him. "I still love him."

Ryan was still not taking this response. "But-"

Lena interrupted again. "Don't hurt him. Please. For my sake." "Alright." Ryan gave in, as he always did for Lena.
