Artemis Jackson

"Artemis Jackson... it's nice to meet you." Lena responded. She looked at the young woman in front of her and thought that she must be a really sweet and kind person, completely the opposite of the type of person she expected her assistant to be. After all, Artemis used to be George's assistant.

And Lena did not believe that George would pick a nice and sweet woman as his assistant.

But now the evidence was right before her.

"How long have you been working under George?" Lena asked. Artemis looked really young, like she just came out of college.

"I worked under George for three years." Artemis said with a smile. "And now I'm working under you."

"Three years..." Lena muttered. That was not what she expected. "You must be quite capable then, to work under George for that long."

Artemis nodded without saying a word. She was stiff as if she was expecting a lot of work too be pushed onto her.

Lena laughed. "Don't be so serious. I'm just surprised you didn't quit after working under George. He's very demanding and needy."

This time Artemis laughed. That was completely true. George almost always pushed most of the work onto her.

"I enjoy the job." Artemis replied. This time she seemed much happier. "It makes for great stories seeing everything that George does."

Lena stared at Artemis. "What does he do?"

Artemis laughed again. "He goes out of his way to offend people. It's hilarious. And funny. And he leaves no room for any complaint either."

Lena did not laugh this time. She's instead asked Artemis to tell her more about the work she needed to do. She found out that Artemis was extremely capable, and wondered how it was possible for anyone to become so capable.
