Lena froze when she heard what Tina said. Thoughts were running rapidly through her head. She was panicking inside. She was too relaxed over the past month. Now she really had to keep Tina away from James.
Lena did not show her inner panic on her face. Instead, she asked Tina, "how? What happened?"
Tina looked up at Lena's face and began to tell her what happened. She was crying in between words, but Lena still managed to understand what happened.
Tina said, "Today I decided to surprise my boyfriend with a visit to his house. I baked sweets for him and everything..." tears fell from Tina's eyes as she spoke. It was obvious that she hated what happened next.
"But when I opened the front door, I heard some noises of people talking from the study, so I walked over to the study."
Tina looked away from Lena. Lena's almost felt her heart breaking seeing the sad expression on Tina's face, but when she remembered that James liked Tina, she calmed herself. She most listen to the rest. "And then?" Lena asked.
"And then... and then I opened the door slowly, so as to not disturb him if he was working, and I saw him and Liz sitting together, sharing the same chair, and..."
Tina cried as she reached this point and her voice's pitch went up an octave. She did not feel like she could say the next part.
"And...?" Lena prompted.
"And they were k- kissing! My boyfriend and my sister were k- kissing!"
Then Tina burst into another bout of tears. She also drank a few more cups of alcohol while crying.
