Meet the King

I woke up to someone shaking my shoulders.

"Mom... five more minutes..." I mumbled.

That earned me a kick to my shoulder.

"Hey!" I yelled.

"Get up, scum!" a deep, gravelly voice said.

"Mom, when did your voice get so deep... OUCH!"

Another kick. Jeez, my luck sure sucked. When I opened my eyes, I definitely didn't see my mom.

"AAAAAA—" I screamed as the memories of the past day came flooding back.

A hand clamped over my mouth which cut off the rest of my scream. A hot guy in full medieval cosplay stood in front of me. I mean, I couldn't tell if he was hot, because his entire body was covered head-to-toe in armor. Only a small hole in his helmet revealed the color of his eyes: a stunning violet.

But considering every guy I've met so far in this crazy dream was hot, it only made sense that this guy would be too.

Sighing, I said, "Sorry, I was just a little scared. Can you please put me down?"

Well, that's what I meant to say. What came out was a bunch of muffled noises.

He removed his hand and looked at me with scorn in his eyes, "How did such a useless twerp like you manage to sneak into the Prince's bedroom?"

I knew that look. It was the same look that my parents always gave me. It meant that nothing I said would convince them: they already had a fixed idea in their mind that would never change. So, I stayed quiet. This was the wrong response, because the guard grew angrier.

"Oh, you think you're too good for words now?"

No, I didn't think that, but this guy clearly didn't believe me.

Time to play suck up, "No, Sir. I wasn't sure if I was allowed to speak."

He looked at me with surprise. I guess he wasn't used to polite prisoners. Then, he handcuffed me and pulled me through the dungeon corridors. It smelled even worse than the school bathrooms, which is saying something.

I never understood why dungeons in fantasy situations were always so dirty. It was begging for diseases and bacteria. Yuck.

Finally, the gross corridors gave way to a flight of stairs. The smell was much better now. It smelled like lavendar and a spring day.

"Ah...." I sighed in relief. I hadn't been outside in days even before this crazy situation happened, so this was amazing.

I walked up the flight of stairs. It was made of smooth, white marble with a red-and-gold carpet in the middle.

I walked.

I waked some more.

I walked even longer.

"Urrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" I sighed.

The guard looked at me in annoyance.

"Stop complaining!"

"I didn't even say anything!"

He sighed and turned his head away. Oh, it was fine for him to sigh in annoyance, but not for me?

Finally, after an eternity of walking, a bright light appeared. Once we walked into it, A gorgeous room came into view. The walls were pearly white with intricate patterns carved into it. Elegant tapestries hung from the ceiling.

But the most impressive of all was the large throne perched in the center. It looked like it was made of solid gold, with precious gemstones embedded in the sides.

Sitting on the throne was, once again, a hot guy.

However, this man seemed very different from the rest. Unlike the ones before him, his facial features were mature and adult-like. Deep worry lines etches his forehead, and light wrinkles dusted his cheeks.

But instead of reducing his appeal, it actually added to it. His eyes were a deep cobalt blue and carried a sense of wisdom and knowledge.

I guess this is what the internet called a "DILF", huh?

I was pulled out of my thoughts when the guard kicked my shins.

"Ow! Can you stop kicking me?!" I exclaimed.

"You idiot!" The guard hissed, "Bow to the King!"

"Oh.... right!" I felt stupid. I did an awkward bow the way I saw in anime and manga. I hoped it was right: it would suck if I got killed because of something dumb like that.

The King narrowed his eyes at me. Uh oh.

Right when he opened his mouth to say something, one of the doors to the right of me slammed open.

"My King! Theres... There's a problem!"

The King rose from his seat, his attention fully focusing on the man who entered. The man was panting heavily, covered in sweat.

"You may speak."

"D-demons! They're... they're here!"

The King's eyes widened in response. "Filverel, you will need to be clearer."

"It's too late!"

Immediately, a large bear appeared behind him. It had six eyes covering it's face, each looking in different directions. Blood red vines were wrapped all over it's body, which was covered in several tinier eyes.

I watched in horror as the bear opened its mouth wide. It bit down on the man's head with a sickening CRUNCH.

I stood still like a statue, afraid to move. That's when the bear turned its head toward me.

Uh oh. Looks like I was in more trouble than I expected.
