CH.6 The Resurgence

He walked towards his sword that's still rooted in the stone as I still wasn't able to pull it out. He then used one hand and carried it with him. Seeing the sword out of the rock I could see it clearly, I was a plain long sword with a golden crossguard and a dark orb at its pommel. Witnessing him pull it out with no effort made me sigh in defeat, as even with my strength I could budge it. Looking around I saw him walked out of the cave without calling me.

I was confused about that so I stay rooted for a while. With nothing else that I could do, I gulped my nervousness and followed suit.

-Outside the cave-

The land was desolate, the forest that used to cover the land was no more. On one side, I could see Rayleigh holding his blade and surging his powers to fight a man. It was weird to say, but the man is mysterious. It would change between forms to face Rayleigh. One time it was a dragon, it was a tiger, it was a... Rabbit?

I don't know why but I could see the hatred in his eyes. Because it's the same eyes I had when I saw my family being slain right in front of my eyes.

What made you become like this Rayleigh?

Both of their power went off the chart, black aura clashed with a purple aura. I could feel myself suffocate from standing here alone, I could feel my body told me to run away... to get as far from this mess as possible.

But... BUT this is my home now. I can't let it be destroyed. I gripped my necklace, my eyes full of conviction. My will steeled, I gripped my necklace. Closed my eyes and focused my magic.

'The moon had blossomed, Serene Ice Flower.'

Ice started forming from the water vapor in the air, it combines into a cube which breaks to reveal the sword. I gripped the blade and rushed to the battle.

~NO POV~

In the distance, you could feel the quake that was being caused by the battle, it was a battle between men. Each time the clashed it changes the landscape of the land.

"I see you're still strong huh? Rayleigh." The Enemy asked, Rayleigh, kept silent and continues his assault. He countered his attack.

The Enemy sighed, "You still hate me, for what happened to him?" Rayleigh flinches but didn't stop attacking.

"You know it's just because he's weak," Rage was visible on Rayleigh's eyes as his aura flared.

"You... you had no right to talk about him like that. He's an honorable man. One that should've enjoyed the fruit of his hard work. But he was killed because of you. Someone that you could save." As their weapon clashes, the atmosphere grew heavier. Each blow was stronger than before.

When the Rayleigh failed to parry the blade, he saw a blue flash, "Now, dying on me would be cruel right, master."

"Shiro," His eyes widened, "Stay out of this,"

~Shiro's POV~

"Your mana its..." The enemy took a glance at me, after a while. He took away his glance, "I see you're the Descendant of Moon and Stars."

I saw his smirk widen, the moment I blinked he had disappear from my field of view. I focused all my senses trying to find out where he's. Only to turn around, and saw him in front of me.

I could see my life flashing in my eyes. I closed my eyes, recalling all the memories I had.

The past... and this life

I remembered that when I arrived in this world I felt despair. I know that I can't survive in such cruel world.

Yet, overcoming all odds here I am standing. Already having the strength to hold my own in the future.

But at this very moment... I was sad... maybe relieved that I would be released from the burden I bear.

I was prepared for the pain that would come. The promised Land of Darkness would engulf me.

Moments had passed yet that pain hasn't come. I could feel something flowing over my skin. It was... blood.

I opened my eyes wide, tears started welling in my eyes, "W...why?" I choked.

He... Rayleigh had taken the blow for me. his body was punctured with the spike. However, he still had his smile.

"Because I cared about you." A simple reason, yes. However, it had told me more about his feelings for me. He hands out his sword, "This is my last gift, when you opened the sheath you would understand everything."

I could feel his hand against my body as he sent me far away, from that place... that land I grew fond of.

-Line Break-

A slow clap was heard,"Awh... what a touching scene."

Rayleigh coughed blood, "You're going down with me. Acnologia."

(A/N note that the name Acnologia implies that he looked like the human form of Acnologia from FT but he isn't the actual Acnologia)

Acnologia snorted, "Like hell you could, even Rogers couldn't do it much less you."

Rayleigh then started to shine brightly, Magic circles layer started appearing till it reaches the sky. Acnologia started to sweat knowing what Rayleigh is doing.

"No, it's im...impossible. Only she had this magic how could you wield it?!" He then rushed to Rayleigh trying to stop it.

"It's too late...

Hold them in silence deeper than death

Even the affluent perish in this cruel world

The inescapable deeds of the past life declared by the Goddess

Inescapable, Indestructible

Heed my prayers

Grand Carnival"

Pillar of light started to shine upon the world. Everything was swallowed by the light that no darkness existed.

"RAYYYYYLLEEighhhhh..." Acnologia screamed as he was being taken away by the light.

Once the Carnival was over the world was silence there are no other being there except Rayleigh.

"My time has come," He looked at the sky as he started to disperse into light particles, "At least I had bought you time... Be strong, Shiro."

The world had lost its color as it started to collapse.
