These days the competitive nature of the brothers was evident. Everything, no matter how big or small, was turned into a competition. It was rather exhausting being caught between the two. Though she couldn't complain because bother we're incredibly talented and attractive. One was cold and aloof, while the other was gentle and caring. Sera couldn't believe she was comparing them like she were on a dating game and not learning life skills through these men.
Lately she had been spending a decent amount of time with Jack and she was starting to develop a crush on him. He was really her ideal man because of how patient and caring he was. Lucien, on the other hand, had a temper and patience was not his forte. Consequently, she avoided Lucien at all costs and ended up sick most days she was to learn from him. Jack noticed and took the opportunity to teach her the lessons she missed. Sera liked Lucien outside of the learning zone, but inside the zone he was a monster.
Today was a rest day and she was taking full advantage of the much needed break. One of the benefits of her bedroom was it had a private, screened-in balcony. Joint in hand and music playing, she was enjoying her balcony when she heard a noise from below. "Pssst. Are you smoking up there?" She knew the voice that questioned her and her heart skipped a beat. It was Lucien. Before she could answer he popped onto her balcony and through the screen. The smirk on his face said so much like "I want some and I'll fight you for it," so Sera was more than a little shocked. "H-how did you get in here?" She incredulously asked. Lucien's smirk became more malicious as he said, "it's a simple spell, but you would know if you had come to more classes."
More shock came to Sera's face when he uttered those words. 'Come to more classes' did he know she was avoiding him? Looking at him he didn't seem to know, yet her gut said he knew a lot more than he played. "So, you know I've been faking it?" Sera sighed. Lucien raised a brow and said, "Yes, I knew, but what I don't know is why." He paused leaving an opportunity for Sera to confess, but all she did want make her lips form a tight line. Obviously Sera was unhappy and Lucien wasn't sure how to fix it, so he tried to changes the subject. "So are you going to share that with me?" He pointed to the joint in her hand.
"Oh this?" She showed it to him, but didn't act like she was in the sharing mood. To his satisfaction though she nonchalantly handed it to him and said, "I didn't know you would do this. If I would have known sooner we can ups have hung out more." Please he took a few puffs off of it and handed it back, "most witches do it as it helps clear the mind in a different way. It allows you to be more at one with yourself and nature." She never would have expected Lucien to be so down to earth and now she saw him in a different way. 'Maybe his dad was super strict and that's why he seems to have a stick up his ass' she thought. Right as she thought that Lucien choked and was coughing up a storm.
When he settled down he looked like he had a question, "Do I seem overbearing to you?" He already knew the answer, but he wanted her to admit it. Right when she was about to open her mouth Jack spoke from behind them. "Of course she does. You are stricter than father ever was." Her mouth immediately dropped and am appalled sound came from her throat. She agreed with Jack, but she couldn't believe that her instincts were right. "Did he hit you guys if you did something wrong? Like with a red paddle that had holes?" She asked cause a vision came into her head of two young boys crying at the sight of a paddle that looked similar to Swiss cheese. Both men looked at each other then they nodded in unison.
"We both use to get whopped a lot. Especially Lucien since he has always had a trouble making side." Jack was shocked and laughed nervously. Lucien had a look of complete disgust at their discussion. "Actually, I just wasn't as good at hiding my trouble unlike Jack-be-nimble here, so I was always getting caught I can't believe you knew about it." He expanded on the story.
