Waking up once again

Ivy Lin drew a sharp breath before she opened her eyes with much effort, only to be stunned at what she saw.

White ceilings. White walls.

The first thing Ivy thought was that she was already in Heaven but the noises coming from the corridor and the beeping sound beside her told her that this place was not heaven but an hospital.

Several tubes were attached to her body and a bondage was wrapped on her head.

A little bit bewildered why there was a bondage on her head, Ivy Lin abruptly sat up , only to hear the door opened and a loud voice that came after.

"Mother!!!"

Ivy Lin whipped her head towards the man who screamed as if he saw a ghost standing before him.

And before she could even react, that man suddenly wrapped his arms around her and cried.

"You're alive!! Thank God, your alive, sister…"

Ivy Lin was confused why she was in an hospital, knowing that Lin Peilang and Zhang Jingren would rather burn her body than treat her.

But she was more confused as to why she was being held by this man, at the same time, why would he call her mother then, his sister?

Just as her mind was having difficulties understanding anything, several people suddenly rushed to the room like zombies ravenously trying to get to her.

As she was thinking, a middle aged woman's face was thrusted upon her vision, looking at her with the same look as the man did when he first came.

Ivy's hands subconsciously creeped to her face and touched it.

Ivy was curious as to why they gave her that look as if she was a ghost and tried to touch her face, checking if there was a wound or scar marring it.

However, as she traced her fingertips to her face, Ivy couldn't stop from touching more as she felt the difference.

"Mirro-- Cough!!" Ivy tried to speak but her throat was too hoarse and parched that she coughed a couple of times.

A hand gently patted her back and said, "It's alright… You don't have to speak too soon. You've been unconscious for several months and it's expected that your voice won't come out as soon as you wake up."

Ivy turned towards the voice and saw a man wearing a doctor's white robe.

With rapid breathing, Ivy tried to speak once again but her head was hurting her too much that she blackened out.

"What's goin g to happen to her?"

Ma Wanwan asked while holding her daughter's hand.

It has been a few months since Li Chuyu's car accident and being in an unconscious state. Prominent doctors from all over the country was called to check up on their daughter but all of them said the same thing.

A brain death.

The doctors said that because of the accident where she hit her head, Li Chuyu was like sleeping beauty however, unlike Aurora who woke up from a kiss, Li Chuyu might never wake up again.

And even if she did, the Li Chuyu they knew might get a drastic change. Physically or mentally and that they shouldn't be too surprised if death suddenly takes her away.

Thankfully, even after a few months of being in an unconscious state, the Li family didn't give up on Li Chuyu and continued to take care of her, giving the best medical care that they could give her until this fated day, where they could finally see Li Chuyu awaken from her endless sleep.

"Since she was sleeping for 7 months already, it's expected that she will be shocked at what's happening." Li Minfeng checked Li Chuyu's condition one more time before he continued, "Well… For now, everything we could do is to give her a daily check up and see if there's some side effect and also, make sure that she doesn't receive more shock if she wakes up again."

Li Minfeng walked up to his Aunt before holding her hand, "Aunt, don't worry anymore. Yu'er is stronger than what you think."

"I know but--"

"Why don't you call uncle and tell him the good news?"

Feeling slightly relieved, Gu Wanwan nodded her head and agreed, "You're right… Yu'er loves her father and will be happy once she sees him."

"Ah no---" Li Minfeng wanted to stop his aunt from adding more shock to Li Chuyu but his aunt was much faster than him and already left the room.

Li Minfeng knew how much Ma Wanwan loved her daughter and as Li Chuyu's cousin, he was also saddened to see Li Chuyu's state but as a doctor, he could not show too much reaction, even towards his family.

The first time, he found out that Li Chuyu got hospitalized, Li Minfeng immediately booked the earliest flight back from France to China and left his prior meetings.

He was shocked and worried but he was more concerned about what his family might do.

Beautiful and talented. Li Chuyu undeniably catches everyone's attention that it causes too much commotion and attracts many bees.

However, Li Chuyu was no innocent youg lady since she also went and dated many men, only to break up with them after a day or a week of being in a relationship.

Somehow, his cousin broke up with the last man, but the man couldn't accept it and caused the accident.

No matter how much the Li family wanted to secretly kill that man, they were no barbaric people who would reciprocate immoral act with another and instead, sent that man to the prison.

"Are you just going to hover around your sister and not go to school, hm?" Li Minfeng turned towards Li Feng who was still standing around with his head down, looking at his sister's beautiful but pale face.

"She'll be alright, right.?" The 17 years old, Li Feng said with pure worry.

"Of course."

"She'll wake up again, right?"

"Up to her if she wants to…"

Li Minfeng gave his unconscious cousin a look before leaving the room with Li Feng, not knowing that the soul of the real Li Chuyu was already dead and Ivy was now residing in it.
