The Hidden World of the Abyss

The old man began to speak, "As you may not know, there is a hidden world, hidden in a sense that normal people do not come across it or have access to it. Even if they do by some luck, they soon perish as they cannot handle the differences in strength. There are still exceptional cases who find this world by mistake but are able to keep up and sometimes even become legendary existences among us. This hidden world is known by many names, but the most common is the 'Abyss'."

The old man paused to let the information sink in for the young mind before continuing. "There are different means of power in this world. Everyone with an ability is unique, and those without the fate of becoming an 'awakened' show their power in numbers. Some do not need numbers as they alone are able to take on the whole world. They are usually the ones who are awakened like you, but it is extremely rare. Every awakened being has a story of monstrous talent, which led me to think that one day you might break those shackles, which is why we are having this conversation right now."

"The ones who choose the power of numbers join a sect or make one themselves if they hold the power of being a leader. There are many different types of sects all over the world. The three most influential sects are Black Dragon, Blue Snakes, and Green Snakes, respectively. Like I said, the Green Snakes holds the position of the third most influential sect in the world of the Abyss, while my brother Asim holds the leadership of the Blue Snakes. We crossed paths as we had different opinions. The Black Dragon Sect is the most influential sect out there. Not just that, even if both my brothers and I join our powers, we still wouldn't be able to compete nor compare to the Black Dragon Sect, as they hold the true bloodline of dragons. Only one individual can compare to their power, and we are not supposed to even think about him, so telling you the name would be harmful to you than to me."

Shaheer was surprised that there was an individual who could overcome the power of the whole sect, someone that two top-ranked sects couldn't compete with. He was greatly interested in that individual and wanted to know more about him, but he knew that he was stepping into a new world with its own rules, so he kept his interest to himself. Little did he know, that this individual had kept an eye on him ever since he got this unknown ability.

The old man continued after taking a small sip from the tea that the table just produced out of nowhere. "Though at first, we were at the fourth place, while the Red Dragon Sect holds the first position. But there was a war between the Red and Black Dragon Sects, and to everyone's surprise, the Black Dragon Sect won it."

The old man was a little hesitant to move forward, and Shaheer saw the hesitation. "That leads us to the last descendant of the Red Dragon." Shaheer calmly pushed the old man to continue his explanation. "Yes, although I can't tell you how and why the Red Dragon Sect trusted us for the upbringing of their last descendant, but I can tell you that they said not to reveal that he is one of us and so he does not know the blood he possesses. I would appreciate if you don't tell him about that either, at least until the right time."

Shaheer somewhat understood why the old man couldn't tell him everything and that the old man had already given him many hints along the way. Now it was his turn to tell the old man about his apparent rare ability.
