Unexpected Reunion

As the car moves smoothly and quickly through the streets of Miresa. Light from the streetlamp illuminates the inside of the car. Henry stares at the beautiful face laying on his lap. Even in darkness, she glows. Even in her sick state, with pale face, her features stand out.

This is not how Henry envisioned their second meeting to be. He planned a romantic rooftop dinner three days from today, when she was supposed to arrive in Miresa. He knows she might be a little upset, even hoping for it, because it means she has not forgotten about him. He was already working on a plan on what to do expecting that she will be mad at him. Searching the internet for gift ideas, even advise to win her forgiveness. All of that didn't work out just like all his other plans for the past 2 years.

Henry with the help of his assistant has planned, even had things all set up countless times to see her again but always, without fail, unforeseen events keeps hindering him from meeting her time and time again.

As the CEO of now the biggest internet-based enterprise in Seiliu, which had ranked the top internationally in the world 2 years ago and well-known worldwide now. He definitely has a lot of things to handle. He has devoted himself to his job and work for over 10 years now and he has reached the top. And for the past 2 years, he has pushed himself harder than ever so he can get things done quicker so he can have some time off to meet Lina again but as if fate wants to block him, something happens to prevent that from happening. Those events are all beneficial to his company but hindered him from pursuing Lina as he wished to do so.

Even with his busy schedule, he never forgot about Lina. He knows all of her public schedules, where she is in the world and what she's up to. He is always hoping to be in the same place as her and to meet her even for just a minute, unfortunately it had never matched up until now.

He has just finished a late online meeting when his assistant called him to say that Lina is already in Miresa and was seen entering Ilnium, the upscale club, with her bodyguards. And he just couldn't wait anymore and let the only chance to see her again pass. It took him weeks of planning the event he had set for them 3 days from now but he doesn't have the patience anymore. He has put everything else before her the past 2 years, he can't do that anymore, not this evening. And he is thankful he decided to go to her when he did. Because he refuses to think about the possible outcome of tonight's events if he wasn't there.

They we're close to Henry's house when Lina started moaning in pain.

"Tell me what hurts baby, we'll be home soon. The doctor is there to help you." Henry tried to comfort the precious bundle beside him, rubbing her arm to try and comfort her.

As soon as the car reached his open front door, a maid holding it open for him, he carried Lina into his arms and went straight to his bedroom.

Butler Li was waiting for him outside his bedroom, "Master Henry, the doctor is already inside."

He can always rely on his butler that has been with his family for such a long time and he is very lucky and glad to him especially at this time.

Lina is burning up now and crying louder, clutching and complaining about her stomach.

Henry placed Lina gently on the bed but stayed close to her as he stood up. The cool sheets seemed to relieve Lina of the heat from her body which calms her down a little. The AC in his room was running high and he heard water running in the bathroom.

Mrs Liu, his head housekeeper, comes out of the bathroom and helps remove Lina's shoes.

While the doctor checked Lina's vital with the help of his nurse.

"The hospital called me just before you got inside and said that the sample sent to them confirms that it's possible that it has the new incapacitating drug that has become rampant recently."

Henry felt all of his blood rush to his head at the doctor's words.

"The laboratory has used the quick test that gives us a quick idea on what we are potentially facing. The full test is still ongoing and will take at least a few hours to confirm the exact amount and specific drug it is. But given her symptoms right now, it is highly probable she ingested what we call in the hospital as PARY drug," the doctor continued. "Even if only 1 gram of it is ingested, it will knock off the person very quick. It controls the body's coordination and could paralyses the entire body. Additional effects are extreme body heat and disorientation, dizziness. Your friend that has been taken to the hospital also had taken the same drug family and the doctors are monitoring him closely now. He forced himself to throw up after realising something is wrong which should help him recover quicker."

Lina writhes in bed and let out a soft wail. "Give her something to fix her now then. She threw up too shortly after drinking the drugged soda."

"Since it is new, there is still no medicine or antidote available at the moment. We are lucky that an existing rapid test is also sensitive to it so we can test it quite quick but it terms of cure, we still don't have any. But it usually wears off in a few hours depending on the dosage. It's good that she didn't take in too much." The doctor hesitated to continue with his next words, Henry looked furious as it is. "This drug is actually primarily used as a date rape drug, if taken in short amount, it doesn't knock off the person but it disorients a person and makes the body languid."

Henry looked murderous so the doctor tried to distract him, "Right now, we need to reduce her temperature."

"The bath is ready." Mrs Liu informed them.

Henry picks up Lina again to take her to the bathroom and gently placed her in the tub with cold water, still fully dressed.

"Mmmm…" Lina moans in relief. Lina is wearing an off-white dress and it's almost see through now that she's submerged in water. Henry looks behind him to see that both the doctor and Butler Li didn't come in and are outside the bathroom waiting for him.

"Mrs Liu, please assist her with the bath, I'll get clothes for her." With one last look at the angel contently soaking in his tub, he left Mrs Liu and another female staff to take care of Lina and closed the door behind him.

"I'm confident that she will recover without any problems. Her stomach is empty but her body would want her to keep throwing up so she will have stomach cramps. I already gave instructions to Butler Li for some broth she can drink to soothe her stomach-ache and something to help her with her body heat. I will be on call the rest of the night if you think she's getting worse." Doctor Jin informs him. Henry thanks the doctor and said his goodbye.

The doctor left with the nurse and Butler Li guided them out.

Henry went to his walk-in closet and took a soft white cotton shirt made with light material and a soft cotton short, the smallest his got in his closet. He went back to the bathroom and knocked, the female staff peeked out and he handed her the clothes.

"Call me when she's ready." He instructed and went back to the bedroom to wait.
