Not her wedding

"Hello everyone, good morning. I am Catalina Cohen. Sorry to keep you waiting." Lina politely greets everyone.

Then walks towards her mother to kiss her on the cheeks and sticks her tongue out to the twins who were obviously enjoying her discomfort. They stick their tongue out at her too and giggle. The twins are always very happy, they find the funniest thing in any situation.

Mr Wu and Grandpa Wu started piling on food on the girls' plate as soon as she took the empty seat in between his mother and Henry.

Henry introduced everybody to her and they just resumed right after to what they were talking about like this happens every day.

She clears her throat, preparing to say something to clarify the situation but was interrupted when Henry grabbed her hand and gave her a spoon.

"Here, quickly finish the soup. It will help with your stomach." Henry casually told her.

Lina looks at him about to reject his offer but he whispered, "Or should I feed you myself?"

Lina hurriedly took the spoon from him and glared at him for good measure and started eating.

As Lina started eating, she looks around at the table and at strange scenario happening. Everybody is getting along well.

"Henry, give Lina some bread to eat with her soup. You girls are very thin." Grandpa Jianyu coaxed Henry while doing the same for Senna who is sitting next to him, which she gobbles up happily. Senna is the strongest eater amongst the sisters.

Henry did as his grandfather told him and added a few more items on Lina's plate.

"The girls are very active so even though they eat so much they're not gaining much weight. They are just growing taller and taller like their father." Maria tells them.

"I think they look just fine, as long as they are healthy." Mrs Grace assures her then asks,

"Who else should be here for the wedding?"

"Whose wedding?" Jia asks

"Nana's, of course." Senna answers in manner of fact way.

Lina chokes on the bread she was eating, she couldn't believe what she just heard. Henry started patting her back then offers her the cup of water. Which she ignored. Looking towards her mother, still coughing.

"Ma, nothing happened. I can explain the situation upstairs. What are you talking about?" she pleads with her mother.

"Nana, even if that didn't happen, you are bound to be married so we have to prepare everything quickly so you can get married by the end of the month." Maria replies calmly, earning some nods from Henry's mother and grandmother.

Lina was about to respond when she felt Henry gently turn her to face the table and said, "Let's finish breakfast first then we'll discuss after."

"I agree." Mr Jian Li answers.

How is Henry so calm? Lina looks at him secretly in between her small bites of food. He's eating normally, even talking to his father about some business stuff. She doesn't have the mind-set to pay attention to what people around her are talking about.

Marriage? Not happening. Especially not to a stranger. Yeah, they have met before but she doesn't know anything about this guy.

Lina was still pretending that her plate is the most interesting thing in the world when Senna finally happily declared "I'm full, thank you for the food."

"Finally. Can we look around the house? I want to see the garden." Jia said, looking hopefully at Grandpa Juanyu.

"No, you can't." Lina immediately denied. "We're going, right Mom?" she asks their mother.

Before the mother and daughter can start bickering, Henry said,

"Why don't we move to the living room and properly discuss what is happening?"

"Great idea!" Grandpa Juanyu says excitedly "I will take these two young ladies to the gardens." And the three of them hurriedly left. For sure not wanting to be part of the drama that will ensue.

Dejectedly, Lina followed the women to the living room followed by Henry and his father. The staff brought out fruits and tea to the living room. The women took the big sofa, seated altogether next to each other, and Mr Juan Li took the single seat sofa which left Lina and henry to take the love seat, seated side by side.

"Mom, what do you mean by wedding?" Henry starts.

"Do you remember me telling you about the old man, who is a fortune teller, I met by accident when I was pregnant with you? Mrs Grace starts. "He told me that my son will be blessed in his lifetime but when the time comes, you need to be with the person destined to be with you. Mother, was there with me and she asked on how will we know when and who it will be but he said it will come to us. Last night I dreamt of you, you told me that you've found her. Mother dreamt of the same thing."

Grandma Sophia nods her head and adds, "I think that is the sign that the time has come. And see how we found you this morning."

As Lina listens to Mrs Grace tell her story, she felt a shiver go through her entire body and she had goose bumps all over her body. She clearly remembers a similar story her mom had told her before and finally grasping the situation she has at hand. Knowing her mom, it will be difficult to sway her at this.

Henry silently listens and looks at Lina.

When his grandmother finished talking. Lina stood up and stopped her mother because she can start talking.

"Stop! I don't want to hear it. You can't believe that nonsense Ma. You can't just let me marry a stranger. And they met an old man, you met a woman. So they must be referring to a different person and not him, right?" Lina denies

"Oh, but fate is fate Lina, dear. Your destiny doesn't base on who told you about it. It's already written." Grandmother tells her

"And explain the dreams, I had the same dream, you telling me you have found him. Why do think we are all here at the same time, at the time you both are here too?" Maria pushes. "You're not even supposed to be anywhere in Seiliu yet. I have other commitments too but all were rescheduled coincidentally so I didn't have any trouble coming here.

"I'm not marrying anybody!"
