Henry guided Lina to an empty chair so she can rest for a bit and gave her a glass of water. A guest that she does not recognize walked towards them. She saw him talking to Henry earlier.
"May I have one dance with the bride?" He asked them when he was within hearing distance.
"No." Henry replied bluntly.
"I knew he would say that. " The new guy replied but ignored Henry and spoke directly to Lina next.
"Hello Lina, I'm Dylan, Henry's best friend and head of the gaming and product development department at WuComp." Extending one hand to shake hers. His got a very bright smile on his handsome face. He had classic good-looking qualities. He had a good build, wearing a perfectly tailored suit, tall physique, and tanned skin. Lina can imagine him and Henry together in their office building, driving their employees crazy with their visuals together. They are both eye candies.
They are a good contrast to each other as well. Henry definitely comes off as cold and very formal, his smiles are rare and far in between, but Dylan on the other hand seems to be smiling non-stop and with a friendlier disposition. They are of almost the same height but Henry's build is obviously bigger.
"Nice to meet you Dylan, thank you for coming to the wedding with such a short notice." Lina politely said as she shook his hand.
"Actually, I came here with an ulterior motive as well as to congratulate you both. I came wanting to use Henry's connection to request something."
"What is your request?"
"Actually, we have previously reached your management company but was turned down. We wanted to hire you to be our model and ambassador for the upcoming game we're launching soon."
Lina laughed out loud with the unexpected yet reasonable request. While Henry's reaction is to glare at him and try to stop him from continuing, "Dylan, it is my wedding night, if you need a reminder. Stop this now."
If it's for Henry's company, Lina does not want to turn him down, "Send the details to Henry then he can give it to me. I'll have a look and see if I can help you out."
"Thank you so much Lina!" As he reached out to hug her, Henry blocked him, placed both hands on Dylan's chest and pushed him off immediately even before he can get near her, scowling.
"I think I'll go now and let you calm him down." Dylan said laughing at his friends demeanor, with a wave he walked away heading to the dance floor.
Before she can say something to Henry another guy walked towards them.
"Congratulations, cousin." He said as he raised the wine glass he's holding. He seems to have had a few glasses already by the way his words slurred and the deep red flush on his cheeks.
"Juen." Henry simply said but he pulled Lina to stand from her seat, gathered her closer to him and placed his arm around her shoulders.
"Aren't you going to introduce me to your wife?" Juen asked as Henry started walking away with Lina.
"No, we can find another situation where I can introduce you to her. But not on such a happy occasion." Henry replied coldly and left Juen.
As they walked away, she saw Grandpa Juanyu still seated on the table. He is looking bored while another male and female was talking to him, or seems to try talking to him. There is also another lady, seems to be around her age seating quietly next to them, with an equally bored expression on her face just like Grandpa's.
"Lina!" Grandpa Juanyu excitedly said when he saw them move closer to him, he immediately stood up and walked towards them, meeting them halfway.
"Grandpa, you were seated so far, I couldn't talk to you." Lina said as she was engulfed in his fatherly hug.
"It's okay, besides you only had eyes for each other." He teased Lina.
Remembering how he looked like while seated she asked him, "Do you want to dance? We haven't had a dance together yet."
Then the older lady jumped into the conversation, Lina didn't even notice her following Grandpa, "No, Father Juanyu cannot do such strenuous activities anymore. You should think before encouraging him to do something that will hurt him." The older lady said, scorning Lina.
Lina not liking the disdain in her voice and her implications asked, "I'm sorry, you are?" she made sure to make it sound like how she would talk to a kid.
"Henry, why did you choose such a wife who doesn't respect her elders." The older male responded almost angrily at Lina's question before the older lady could respond.
"Stop it, you two." Grandpa Juanyu admonished firmly.
"But Father, we're only concerned about you." The lady said, pouting. "I think you should have not given the approval for Henry to marry her. You can just take the baby from her; we can take care of the baby if you want Father Juanyu." She added excitedly.
Lina looked at Henry, the situation just started to be confusing to her. Henry's face just turned scarily cold , her gaze sharpened as he stared down at the tactless couple.
"I suggest Uncle Feng and Auntie May stop talking about things you don't know before I start educating you my own way."
Henry said goodbye to his grandfather and let Lina give him another hug before getting them out of there. She looked back to see Grandpa Juanyu admonishing the couple but the young lady who is still sitting down looked at her weirdly, her eyes following them as they leave.
Before she can talk to Henry about what just happened, he said, "Say goodbye to your family now. We will leave very early tomorrow."
It was way past one o clock in the morning by then and Lina can feel the long day she had catching up to her. Barely stifling a yawn, she went around to say goodbye to his and her family and the few guests invited, with Henry following her around. That took them another hour before they finished.
She also made sure to talk to the twins and asked them pull Grandpa from where is seated and ask him to dance, which they immediately did. Completely ignoring the couple fussing over them. They were dancing with him and Grandma Sophia, having a blast as Lina and Henry were walking back towards the house.
Just before they can step inside, Ki Ha handed her phone to her. "That dumpling app kept popping notifications but I can't open to see what it is." He informed her.
Baddy! She forgot to update her. She said her thanks to Ki Ha and went in to the house, heading towards her new husband's old room.
