When Ye Xiu announced his retirement, it left the pro-circle relieved since they won't have to worry about his unspecialized Lord Grim anymore.
However, it was bad news for guilds. When guild leaders received an urgent report, they were always afraid that it would signalize Ye Xiu's return. Luckily for them, it was only reports of other pro-players. They also caused some trouble but guild leaders knew that they will leave when the summer break ends.
If Ye Xiu came back, no one could stop him from terrorizing other guilds even during the regular season. As a retired player, he couldn't join the next season so what else would he do?
Except for Wei Chei, no one suspected that Ye Xiu already returned to enjoy some fun in-game.
"What?" Ye Xiu asked?
"Are you trying to mess with me?" Wei Chei was starting to get angry.
"I'd love to." Ye Xiu calmly replied.
"You... Tell me whether it's you playing with the character Light Flow!"
"I couldn't play because I'm traveling with my family." Ye Xiu sadly replied. He was looking for ways to play since he already missed the game. The problem was that they didn't have the proper equipment in the remote place where he currently stayed.
"Chen Guo will arrange something for me so that I can play." Ye Xiu added.
"When?" Wei Chei asked.
"Ask her. So you lost against this Light Flow?" Ye Xiu already knew the answer but was curious to hear more and Wei Chei told him all the details. Then he also mentioned the boss fights. Wei Chei would like to recruit someone from these top leaders. It would be great to find someone tactically capable who could support them in boss fights full-time since Ye Xiu didn't have so much time now.
"I'll check it." Ye Xiu assured him.
"Make sure that it's not a shameless pro-player trying to infiltrate our guild." Wei Chei said as if he already forgot that he was the one who already did such a thing.
"No worries. I'll recognize any pro-player." Ye Xiu concluded the call.
As the day continued, several bosses appeared but Happy's guild wasn't successful despite that Luo Ji and Wei Chei were leading two main divisions with all Happy players.
Luo Ji would be a great chess player because of his logical thinking and the ability to compute the best possible move from thousands of combinations. Unlike chess, Glory isn't that simple that the moves could be just computed. It's more like a poker where players need to bluff constantly and work with the uncertainty of what comes next. Similarly, Wei Chei's team also sometimes failed to fulfill their mission because he simply couldn't keep up against master tacticians.
Despite that, Wei Chei wasn't worried since he was awaiting a report from Ye Xiu and he didn't disappoint him when reporting his findings. Together they devised a plan for the next big boss fight.
"I'll inform everyone about the plan and findings once we head off for the boss fight." Wei Chei concluded the conversation.
Around one hour later, a person sitting in the guild department of Blue Rain just wrote this message to the Changing Spring:
"Everything is going well today. How do you feel?" Blue River was displayed behind the message as the author. Since Changing Spring became sick, Blue River was appointed as a temporary guild leader.
"I slept and had a nightmare." Changing Spring replied.
"The same character as before?" Blue River already knew what it was about but avoided mentioning any name.
"Yes." Changin Spring replied shortly.
"Have a good rest!" Blue River just received a report and ended the conversation with Changing Spring.
It was reported that the highest level wild boss just spawned. He appeared in the central area of the map near several cities. In such cases, it's typical that many guilds will discover the boss at approximately the same time. Nevertheless, he still informed the pro-players and continued sipping his tea.
A notification appeared on Blue River's screen and he spat out the tea when he read it:
"Your friend Lord Grim just came online."
Blue River felt like crying and he wondered why this had to happen on the day when he was supplying as a temporary leader. Why he has to be so unlucky.
Writing a message. "Welcome back" would be too dishonest for him, so instead he wrote "Hi. so you're back?".
Blue River was impatiently waiting for the reply. Several minutes already passed and still nothing.
He realized that he should inform pro-players.
"We know already." Yu Wenzhou replied. The team already reached the boss and they could see Lord Grim. This place was already full of people and more teams were approaching. Although most pro-players were using fake accounts, their teams could be recognized from class compositions. It looked like all pro-players were here, including god and all-star players. All guild leaders had Lord Grim added as a friend so it's possible that they all mobilized their pro-players.
Even teams that normally don't stand a chance in boss fights came to enjoy the show.
Lord Grim stepped out and the bubble appeared above his head:
"Is this a welcome back party for me? Thank you to everyone for coming!"
The first one to react was Huang Shaotian:
"No, you're not welcomed here! You were supposed to spend time with your family? Don't you feel guilty for being here and not with them! You don't know how to rest, do you? Since you're already here, we should PK! PK! PK! PK!"
