Why Be A Serial Killer

"Freya, I was able to get info on some of the research you wanted on Dr. David AKA Dr. Clown." Salma told Freya in a whisper as she pulled out a chair from one of the cubicles, placed it at Freya's cubicle and sat on it. She paused her work on the computer and turned to Salma.

"We don't know if they're the same person yet, Salma. Anyway, what did you find out?" Freya asked also in a whisper as she looked around the room, it was full of other lawyers' cubicles. Some of them sat at their cubicles while others were coming in or out of the room.

"I found out why he's kidnapping people and operating on them, and why Clara Wilde is backing him. He is doing that obviously because he is sick and evil, and he wants the world to accept vivisection while trying to find a cure for his sick daughter.

I read that in some rare people's organs, tissues or blood, there can be a cure for Debilities, Sophie's sickness, as stated by one website called 'In The Dark' which is probably a lie even though it's said that a doctor has found such a cure before through this horrifying means." Freya nodded along agreeing with Salma's assumption.

"As for Clara, Dr. David is her nephew, and they hide it well. I don't know why. She supports him and what he is doing because of that and because she wants the world to accept vivisection since her husband died because the doctors wouldn't operate on him with vivisection when the sickness he had couldn't be operated on with anesthesia.

That is also the reason she got Dr. David a job at the hunted house operating on people using vivisection even though people would think it's an act. They both want people to accept vivisection and for the government to let it be practised like it was before."

Freya was not surprised at the information, she had thought of a family connection between Clara Wilde and Dr. Sam David, and she had a feeling that it also had to do with vivisection since she heard that he was suspected to be performing illegal surgery. She let out a sigh and lifted her cup of coffee to her lips.

"So that's all you got? Did you get any dirt that we can use on them in court?"

"No, they made sure to keep their records clean except for the part where Dr. Creepy operates on his victims in his basement and his closest neighbor, you, hear their screams every night." Freya laughed a little at that knowing that it was a loop hole because they both knew as long as Freya knew what was going on, she would definitely bring justice to those victims.

"We need to dig deeper and find out more, I haven't been able to do my own research on them, but I will. We need to know their kidnapping pattern, how to get proof of what they are doing, and if Dr. David is really Dr. Clown or we're looking at two seriously sick people."

Salma nodded. "I will keep trying to get more on them. How is your case going?"

"I'm thinking of a way to find out what James Knight keeps discussing with Richard Hunt. In the email Luke sent me, they've met twice this week which is something rare." She said as she glanced at her computer monitor.

"I know you will figure it out."

Freya turned back to face her computer and continued typing on it. "I believe I will. What about your case? How far with it?"

"The client asked us to pause our work because he's not so sure who he accused is the accused anymore." Salma sighed looking disappointed.

"Right. This always happens when the accused is a girlfriend or boyfriend and they try to convince them to withdraw the accusation." She patted Salma's arm then resumed her work. "Don't worry, Lydia always makes sure that who we are going against is someone that actually did the crime in such cases, and she will never allow anything less."

"You're right, the accused is his girlfriend."

"Okay, work aside, can you make it to the next town's party?" Freya asked as she looked at the information of Richard Hunt on Google showing on the screen.

"I'm sorry, but I don't think I can." Salma stared at the screen too, thinking.

"I would really like it if you came and met Luke officially and hung out with our group." She glanced at Salma with pleading eyes.

"Fine. I will try to make it for you and Luke."

Ding Dong

Ding Dong

Freya's doorbell rang as she was sitting on her couch watching the TV which was playing 'Come Play'. She stood up and went to open the door knowing it was Luke since he told her he will be coming tonight.

"Hi." She greeted him after opening the door. He was wearing a dark blue long sleeved top and dark blue jeans with his brown hair combed to the side.

"Hey Baby, how have you been holding up without seeing me?" He asked playfully as he entered the house and closed the door.

Freya laughed looking up at him as he stood in front of her and the door, "Terribly, I kept staring at your picture to cope."

"Wait, really? Were you staring at my picture?" He looked surprised.

"You wish." She laughed again and he joined her before she sauntered to the couch.

He followed her and sat beside her, placing his arm on the back of the couch behind her while she leaned back.

"I do wish so, and so that you know, I stare at your picture on my phone every time I miss you."

She blushed and turned to him, he was staring at her, "Then you must really like me then."

"I don't only like you Freya, but I'm falling in love with you." Luke held her hand and intertwined their fingers, "And I really hope that you will love me as much I love you someday."

"I feel the same about you, Luke, but I'm afraid to let myself love you because I don't want to get hurt like I did last time." She smiled sadly as she turned her face away from him.

"I will never hurt you or let anyone hurt you. I will always be there for you no matter what, I'm not going anywhere." He said genuinely, and she believed him.

"Thank you for being here for me, I'm really glad I met you." He lightly squeezed her hand, and she glanced at him to see that he has turned to face the TV.

"You're watching a horror movie?"

She grabbed the remote that was sitting close to her on the couch and pressed play. "Yes, 'Come Play'. You will like it."

"I am not sure I will 'cause I have never really paid much attention to horror movies."

"I would have to convert you to our side then." He laughed at that.
